    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive filtration membrane module in which a plurality of filtration membrane elements can be inserted and fixed in a box unit in which the filtration membrane elements are disposed in parallel to one another in a vertical posture at the prescribed intervals, and to provide a method for producing clean water. SOLUTION: This filtration membrane module is obtained by housing several sheets of the filtration membrane elements each having a flow passage material and a filtration membrane formed on a supporting sheet in this order in parallel to one another in the box unit. The distance between the adjacent filtration membrane elements is kept by one of a plurality of distance keeping members arranged in the filtration membrane element housing direction.
