Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a membrane element capable of enhancing the washing properties of a membrane surface by air by equally introducing air discharged from an air diffusion pipe into a housing, a membrane module and a water making method. SOLUTION: The membrane element is constituted by providing a flow channel material and a separation membrane on a support plate in this order and providing filtrate take-out nozzles communicating with the flow channels formed by the flow channels material to the edge part of the support plate. A plurality of the membrane elements are parallelly housed in the housing having a plurality of liquid gathering pipes arranged thereto and the filtrate take-out nozzles of a plurality of the membrane elements are connected to a plurality of another liquid gathering pipes at every predetermined number to constitute the membrane module. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent tangling with sewage residue and to prevent the sticking and accumulation of sludge by forming independent free ends as the front ends of hollow fiber membranes, linearly assembling the other ends and connecting the assembled ends to a water collection part. SOLUTION: Independent free ends are formed as the front ends 2 of hollow fiber membranes 1. The other ends are linearly fixed to form a fixed part 3, and a water collection part 5 which collects water treated by passing through the hollow fiber membranes 1 is composed of the fixed part 3 and a water collection member 4 to obtain the objective hollow fiber membrane module 6. Since the front ends of the hollow fiber membranes 1 are not supported or retrained and the hollow fiber membranes 1 in the module 6 can be freely swung even in use in high concn. activated sludge, sludge is less liable to accumulate on the surfaces of the membranes 1 owing to a stream of water, sludge is also less liable to accumulate between the membranes 1 because the membranes 1 are swung freely by the water stream and tangling with sewage residue is hardly caused.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the ease of operation to seal one of the end part of a hollow fiber membrane by sealing one of the end parts of a hollow fiber membrane bundle in such a state that a plurality of the hollow fiber membranes are aligned in a row when manufacturing a hollow fiber membrane module formed of plural hollow fiber membranes with a fixed end part and a sealed free end part. SOLUTION: In the hollow fiber membrane module of a comb shape with one freely rocking end of a hollow fiber membrane 1, the base end part of the hollow fiber membrane 1 is of a potting part 2 structure with an integrally formed water gathering part 3. On the other hand, a free end part is sealed with a sealing part 4 formed. When fabricating this sealing part 4, the end parts, on the side which becomes a free end part, of the hollow fiber membrane 1 are aligned in a row and the hollow fiber membranes 1 are prevented from adhering to each other by sealing the free end part in the described aligned state. In order to align the hollow fiber membranes 1 in a row, means such as packing a filler such as an adhesive from the open part of the hollow fiber membrane 1, deforming the hollow fiber membrane 1 under pressure or fusing the hollow fiber membrane 1 under heat are mployed.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the reliability and the ease of operation of sealing one of the end parts of a hollow fiber membrane by sealing the free end part of the hollow fiber membrane while thermally deforming it in such a state that a liquid is applied to the free end part of the hollow fiber membrane, when manufacturing a hollow fiber membrane module with a fixed end part and the sealed free end part. SOLUTION: In the hollow fiber membrane module of a comb form with one freely rocking end of a hollow fiber membrane 1, the base end part of the hollow fiber membrane 1 is of a potting part 3 structure with an integrally formed water gathering part 4. On the other hand, a free end part 2 is sealed with a sealing part. When fabricating this sealing part, each of the pieces of the hollow fiber membrane 1 is discretely sealed by deforming the free end part 2 under pressure. In this case, in order to form the free end part 2 of the hollow fiber membrane free from a sealing defect by generating sufficient adhesion, the part to be bonded is thermally deformed under pressure. Further, in order to prevent a trouble such as the fusion of the hollow fiber membrane from occurring, a liquid such as water or alcohols are applied to the sealing part to ensure a highly reliable sealing.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain bubbles from being generated on the permeation side in a filter in which a filter membrane is immersed in liquid to be treated to obtain clarified water by head pressure of the liquid to be treated by installing a clarified water storage part on the permeation side of a filter membrane and lower than an effective part of the filter membrane and installing a clarified water takeoff part in the lower part of the storage part. SOLUTION: A membrane 2 is stuck to both surfaces of a frame 4 through a clarified water flow passage material 8 to constitute a flat membrane element, and below the membrane 2, a clarified water storage part 3 is provided successively on the permeation side. A plurality of such membrane elements arranged in parallel are loaded to an element vessel 10, and a clarified water intake line 5 and a standby opening line 6 are provided successively to constitute a membrane module. The membrane module is immersed in liquid in a liquid to be treated tank 11, and by operating an intake pump 7 connected to the intake line 5, clarified water is obtained from the liquid to be treated by pressure difference encountered inside and outside the membranes 2, and the obtained clarified water is made to flow down to the storage part 3, and then discharged to outside the system by a intake pump 7.
