    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject molding composition having excellent molding processability and heat resistance by adding specific amounts of residues of a specific binuclear oxide, a phosphorus compound and a specified compound to a polyester. SOLUTION: This composition comprises (A) a polyester and residues of (B) a binuclear oxide composed of main metal elements of titanium and silicon, (C) a phosphorus compound and (D) an alkaline earth metal compound and/or a cobalt compound in amounts of 0.5-300 ppm calculated as titanium atom of the component B, 0.5-400 ppm calculated as phosphorus atom of the component C and 5-300 ppm calculated as alkaline earth metal or cobalt metal atom and has preferably (in the case of being retained in a molten state in a nitrogen atmosphere at, 300 deg.C for 8 hours). A polyethylene terephthalate (a polyester copolymer consisting essentially of polyethylene terephthalate), etc., are preferable as the component A.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polymerization catalyst for polyesters excellent in moldability and processability, in which problems such as stain of spinneret, increase of filtering pressure and yarn breakage are solved in production of a molding product for fibers, films and bottles, and provide a method for producing a polyester using the catalyst. SOLUTION: A main metal element as a polycondensation catalyst is a binuclear oxide composed of zirconium and silicon and the molar ratio of Zr:Si of the composition is (90:10) to (10:90), in a method for producing a polyester by polycondensing a product obtained by esterification or transesterification of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid or its ester-forming derivative with a diol or its ester-forming derivative.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing the subject polyester hardly causing increase in a filtration pressure of a filter medium at the time of molding, break of a thread at the time of spinning and break of a film at the time of film-formation, and useful for a fiber, the film, a bottle or the like by using an aluminum compound and a titanium compound as a polycondensation catalyst. SOLUTION: This method for producing (Z) a polyester by polycondensing a product obtained by an esterification reaction or a transesterification of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid (an ester-formable derivative thereof) with a diol (an ester-formable derivative thereof) comprises using (A1 ) an aluminum compound (e.g. hydroxide or acetate of aluminum) and (A2 ) a titanium compound [e.g. a titanium alkoxide, or a reaction product of the titanium alkoxide with an aliphatic carboxylic acid salt or an aromatic polybasic carboxylic acid (anhydride)] as the polycondensation catalyst. Preferably, the amounts of the A1 and A2 based on the amount of the Z are each 1-500 ppm expressed in terms of each metal atom.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester excellent in moldability and solving problems such as the staining of spinnerets, the rise of filtration pressures and the breakage of fibers on the production of molded products such as fibers, films and bottles, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This polyester contains an organic aluminum compound of the formula: Al[OR1 ]l [OR2 ]m [OR3 ]n [R4 ]o [R1 , R2 , R3 are each an alkyl, an aryl, an acyl; R4 is an alkylacetoacetate ion, acetylacetone ion; wherein R1 , R2 , R3 are each simultaneously not H or acetyl; (l), (m), (n) and (o) are each 0 or a positive number wherein (l)+(m)+(n)+(o)=3] in an amount of 5-500 ppm (converted into aluminum atom) based on the polymer, and a cobalt compound in an aluminum atom/cobalt atom (Al/Co) molar ratio of 0.5-20.
