This method for producing the false twisted coated elastic yarn comprises, in reeling the polyurethane elastic yarn, drafting the polyurethane elastic yarn dividedly in at least two stages, arranging the polyurethane elastic yarn in parallel with the polyamide multifilament yarn, doubling the yarns and subjecting the doubled yarn to false twisting.
