    Abstract: NEW MATERIAL:1,6,11-Tris(dimethylamino)undecane expressed by formula I. USE:Industrially useful as a blowing catalyst for urethane, a curing accelerator for an epoxy resin, a textile modifier or a raw material for fine chemicals. PROCESS:1,6,11-Triaminoundecane (A) expressed by formula II is, directly or in an aqueous solution, fed to a mixture solution of formaldehyde in an amount of 6mol based on 1mol of (A) with formic acid in an amount of 9mol based on 1mol of (A), according to the formula, preferably at 70-105 deg.C, to give the titled compound expressed by formula I. A reaction solvent is not particularly required but the reaction proceeds very smoothly in the presence of water. The titled compound is a liquid at ordinary temperature, easily handleable due to its low vapor pressure, and has little bad effects on man.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide polyurethane resin useful for a paint composition not containing volatile monomer with high toxity and having no stimulating odor by reacting polyol and 1,6,11-undecane triisocyanate. CONSTITUTION:Polyol and 1,6,11-undecane triisocyanate represented by a formula. The above-described 1,6,11-undecane triisocyanete is a novel compound having good symmetric structure, having b,p, of 166-167 deg.C/0.2mmHg, being colorless and odorless liquid substance with good flowability in the vicinity of a room temperature, having low vapor pressure at about room temperature, having no stimulating odor to human body, being handled safely as well as containing isocyanate in a high concentration of above 45%. As polyol to be used, diol, polyol, polyetherpolyol, polyesterpolyol, polymerpolyol are included.

    Abstract: NEW MATERIAL:1,6,11-Undecane triisocyanate of formula I. USE:A raw material for polyurethane and polyurea usable for coating materials, films and adhesives, capable of imparting improved properties, e.g. light stability, weatherability, and solvent resistance, and good quick drying property and excellent surface hardness to films. PROCESS:1,6,11-Undecanetriamine hydrochloride of formula II is suspended in an insert solvent, e.g. a chlorinated hydrocarbon, and reacted with phosgene at 100-170 deg.C to give the compound of formula I. The starting compound of formula II is obtained by heating epsilon-caprolactam, epsilon-amino caproic acid, or their polymer in the presence of a strong base, e.g. an alkali metal oxide, at 300 deg.C or above, and by reducing the resulting compound of formula III with hydrogen in aqueous ammonia.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce the titled low-toxicity, irritating odor-free resin capable of forming a high-solid coating and a paint film of excellent appearance, by reacting a polyol with a specified triisocyanate compound. CONSTITUTION:A polyurethane resin is produced by reacting a polyol (e.g., trimethylolpropane, glycerin, or polypropylene glycol) with 1,6,11-undecane triisocyanate. This resin has properties inherent in a polyurethane resin, such as excellent adhesion to substrates, excellent balance between hardness and flexibility, cracking resistance, water resistance, chemical resistance, gloss, etc. In addition, the triisocyanate compound used has a low vapor pressure and emits no highly toxic volatile component. This composition can form a film excellent in appearance, heat resistance, and water resistance and form a high-solid coating because of its low viscosity, so that it can be designed as a nonpolluting coating.
