    Abstract: PURPOSE: To prevent a resolution drop in the peripheral section of a color cathode-ray tube screen by providing a field correction electrode on an electrode to form a main lens. CONSTITUTION: Regarding a color cathode-ray tube equipped with at least the first electrode G3 of relatively low potential and the second electrode G4 of relatively high potential laid in such a state as faced to the electrode G3 respectively as a main electron gun lens to emit one row of three electron beams, non-circular three electron beam transmission holes as a combination of 29B, 29G, 29R, 30B, 30G and 30R without any bar ring are formed on the opposite faces of the first and second electrodes G3 and G4. In addition, at least one of the electrodes G3 and G4 is provided with a plate or cup type field correction electrode 31 to adjust stronger focusing action in an orthogonal direction than in the array direction of the three electron beams in a focusing zone formed with the electrodes G3 and G4, and at the same time, to adjust diverging action in a divergent zone similarly formed.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To sufficiently exhibit the performance of a large aperture lens by forming a main lens of three or more electrodes different in electric potential arranged in the direction for separating from the central axis of an electron gun in a color cathode-ray tube. CONSTITUTION: In an electron gun of a color cathode-ray tube, among plural electrodes constituting a main lens part, a main lens to finally focus three electron beams on a phosphor screen is composed of substantially cylindrical three electrodes 25, 26 and 27 different in a diameter. These electrodes 25, 26 and 27 are coaxially arranged in the direction for separating from the central axis of the electron gun so that an electrode having a large diameter wraps a cylindrical electrode having a small diameter in order of the intermediate electrode 26 and the second electrode 27 by putting the first electrode 25 having the smallest diameter most inside. In the electrodes 25, 26 and 27, the phosphor screen side edge becomes close to the phosphor screen in order of the second electrode 27, the intermediate electrode 26 and the first electrode 25.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To attain excellent resolution over the whole image screen area by forming an asymmetric electron lens of an opening hole through which electron beams do not pass, and excellently focusing a pair of side beams on a phosphor screen. CONSTITUTION:An opening hole 31 through which a pair of respective electron beams do not pass is arranged on the outside along the vertical directional side edge of a pair of side beam passing holes 30B and 30R on a surface where a fourth grid G4 of an electron gun is opposed to a third grid G3. This hole 31 is formed outside in the arranging direction of the respective holes 30B, 30G and 30R, symmetrically to the arranging axis (X axis) of the electron beam passing hole 30B, 30G and 30R arranged in a row in the horizontal direction, and asymmetrically to the vertical axis 32 of the respective holes 30B and 30R. Thereby, since an asymmetric electron lens can be formed in a main electron lens part, a pair of side beams can be excellently focused on a phosphor screen. Thereby, excellent resolution can be attained over the whole image screen area.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To alleviate the deterioration of withstand voltage characteristics and the defect of an image due to the separation of a black oxide film by forming a recess at least on one of the opposite surfaces of a mask frame and an inner magnetic shield body for providing a gap at a position other than a fixed point between the surfaces. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of apertures 34 are formed on the inner bulge section 32 of a mask frame 23 and each side of an inner magnetic shield body 30 faced thereto including the mounting side of the body 30. This body 30 is mechanically fixed with elastic clips inserted in the apertures 34. Furthermore, a recess 37 comprising a groove of circular arc cross section is formed between the apertures 34 of the bulge section 32, and the mounting side of the body 30 covers the recess 37. According to this construction, the contact area of each opposite side is reduced, and even if vibration is transmitted to the frame 23 and the shield body 30, a damage due to friction and the separation of a black oxide film are lessened. Consequently, an image defect due to a withstand voltage drop and the clogging of the electron beam transmission holes of a shadow mask 21 can also be lessened.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode-ray tube device capable of forming a uniform- shaped beam spot over the whole surface of a phosphor screen. SOLUTION: A main lens comprises a second segment G5-2, a sixth grid G6, and an additional electrode GM disposed between them. The second segment and the sixth grid are impressed with a constant fixed voltage of a first level and a constant fixed voltage of a second level, respectively. The additional electrode is applied with a voltage of a third level between the first and second levels and also applied with a voltage for changing the value of ((additional electrode applied voltage)-(focusing electrode applied voltage))/((anode electrode applied voltage)-(focusing electrode applied voltage)) as the amount of deflection of an electron beam increases. An auxiliary lens formed by a third grid G4 to a first segment G5-1 disposed in front of the main lens decreases in focusing action as the amount of deflection of the electron beam increases.

SOLUTION: Electron beam passing holes on a first intermediate electrode Gm1 of a fifth grid G5 of an electron gun and on a second intermediate electrode Gm2 side of a sixth grid G6 are formed so as not to form a side wall surface of the surface, or burring. Electron beam passing holes on the fifth grid G5 side of the intermediate electrode Gm1 adjacent to the fifth grid G5 and on the sixth grid G6 side of the second intermediate electrode Gm2 adjacent to the sixth grid G6 are formed in a longitudinally long shape whose diameter in vertical direction is larger than that in the horizontal direction to decrease spherical aberration. An electron beam is uniform on the whole surface of a screen and almost completely round, very small electron beam spot can be obtained, and resolution is enhanced.
