Abstract:
The present invention relates to horizontal rods-supported pore-controllable fiber media filter comprising: a fiber support wherein fixing supports are stood at both ends, and the both ends of a plurality of horizontal rods are fixed to the fixing supports so as to couple the horizontal rods at intervals in the height direction; fiber media hung on the horizontal rods of the fiber support in a zigzag pattern, wherein a lower end forms a fixed end fixed to the lower end of the fiber support and an upper end forms a free end at the upper end of the fiber support; and an actuator coupled to the free end of the fiber media to pull or loosen the fiber media supported by the fixed end. The fiber media are supported in a zigzag pattern by the horizontal rods of the fiber support to form filtration pores if the actuator is operated to pull the fiber media, and the fiber media are relaxed in a zigzag pattern by the horizontal rods of the fiber support to form backwash pores if the actuator is operated to loosen the fiber media.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a filter apparatus together with a method for the filtration of liquids, such as, in particular, water, with a housing (1) with an inlet (4) and a filtrate outlet (7) for filtered liquid, with a filter means (31) which is arranged in the flow path of the liquid between the inlet and the filtrate outlet for filtering out particles from the liquid, and with a dirt discharge (9) via which filtered-out particles can be discharged from the housing, the filtrate outlet (7) being assigned an outlet valve (12) and the dirt discharge (9) being assigned a discharge valve (13). According to the invention, the outlet valve (12) and the discharge valve (13) are coupled in such a way that the discharge valve (13) opens the dirt discharge only when the outlet valve has at least partially shut off the filtrate outlet, in order thereby to generate a cleaning pulse.
Abstract:
A method and filtration module (5) for providing gas bubbles within an array of vertically disposed porous hollow membranes (6) to clean the outer surfaces of said membranes (6) when the array is immersed in a liquid by feeding (10) the gas bubbles into the array transversely of the vertical axis of the array. In one preferred form, the gas bubbles are retained within the array using a sleeve (11) surrounding the array (6) at least along part of its length.
Abstract:
A filter for separation of a suspension is used in chemical, food and agricultural industries. In the filter, a continuous flow of a suspension is directed downwards into a gap (13) between filtering elements (4) with their simultaneous cleaning with a gas flow which is fed through openings (15) of tubes (14) in the form of bubbles on the surface of each of the filtering elements (4) on the side of the suspension flow and in the direction which is opposite to the direction of that flow. The filtering elements (4) consist of hollow reservoirs (8) connected to a filtrate removing sleeve (5). The tubes (14) are located in the lower part of the filtering elements (4) along and very close to their lateral sides so that the bubbles coming out of the openings move along the surface of the filtering elements (4) and clean the latter.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for filtration are disclosed. A feed mixture including at least one liquid component and at least one solid component and a flow of gas may be directed to a filter element and filtrate and gas may be passed through a filter medium from a feed fluid side to a filtrate side. The gas loosens and removes foulants accumulating within and on the upstream surface of the filter medium. The gas and filtrate may be separated from one another after passing through the filter medium.
