Abstract:
A method for coating vehicular radiators (20) with an ozone depleting manganese oxide catalyst in slurry form utilizes a robotic (48) arm with multiple spray heads (50A, 50B) for spraying the face (32, 33) of the radiator. Each head (50A, 50B) is in fluid communication with its own dedicated peristaltic pump. The pumps are independently valved into and out of fluid communication with select heads (50A, 50B) as a function of the spray pattern effected by robotic arm movement.
Abstract:
A common head for use in combination with a cartridge assembly, the cartridge assembly being retained within the material containment unit of a dispensing device and arranged to discharge reactive components from larger and smaller cartridges in response to actuation of the dispensing device. The common head includes inlet openings and a rigid walled tube having a partition positioned therein to define larger and smaller pathways to enable passage of the reactive components from the cartridges into and though the common head in a predetermined volumetric ratio and prevent backflow of the components which can lead to unintended curing prior to dispensing. A flexible liner arranged for positioning within one or both pathways of the rigid walled tube is also provided to prevent such backflow and unintended curing prior to dispensing.
Abstract:
An ultrafine bubble (UFB)-containing liquid manufacturing apparatus includes a liquid ejecting unit having a thermal energy generating element, a flow path for leading liquid to the thermal energy generating element, a driving unit configured to drive the thermal energy generating element, and an ejection opening. The UFB-containing liquid manufacturing apparatus also includes a collecting unit configured to collect liquid ejected from the ejection opening. The driving unit drives the thermal energy generating element to cause film boiling in liquid led to the flow path and causes liquid containing ultrafine bubbles generated by the film boiling to be ejected from the ejection opening.
Abstract:
A nebulizer for a charged aerosol detection (CAD) system is disclosed. The nebulizer is provided with a spray emitter for generating a spray of droplets within a central region of a spray chamber. The central region is separated from an upper region by a horizontally projecting rib, which defines a passageway between the central and upper regions. The major direction of droplet travel within the upper region is substantially reversed with respect to the major direction of droplet travel within the central region. Larger droplets are unable to negotiate the turn from the central to upper regions and impinge on a rear surface of the spray chamber. Removal of larger droplets has the advantageous effect of enabling the detector to sense a smaller range of particle sizes, which establishes a relatively steady electrical current at the detector.
Abstract:
An air passage and two lines of cleaning liquid paths are provided in a nozzle, and the air passage is bifurcated into two lines of distal end portions. Then, a distal end portion of the cleaning liquid path and the distal end portion of the air passage are merged. Thus, if the compressed air is supplied to the air passage, the resulting air flow causes a negative pressure on the downstream side. This enables making a cleaning liquid into the form of a mist and suctioning it, and to mix the cleaning liquid in the form of a mist with the compressed air, whereby it is possible to clean the lens surface and to reduce the amount of the cleaning liquid used.
Abstract:
A laminated nozzle assembly includes a first end plate having first and second fluid inlets, a second end plate, and a plurality of nozzle plates positioned between the first and second end plates. A first fluid conduit is fluidically connected to the first fluid inlet. The first fluid conduit has a reservoir and one or more first openings. A second fluid conduit is fluidically connected to the second fluid inlet. The second fluid conduit has an inlet channel, a connecting channel and one or more second openings. An orifice assembly includes a first orifice fluidically connected to the first opening and a second orifice fluidically connected to the second opening. The first and second orifices are disposed in the same plate of the plurality of nozzle plates and are coplanar.
Abstract:
During the rolling of a metallic flat rolling stock (1) in a roll stand (2), lubricating oil (5) is sprayed onto the rolling stock (1) and/or at least one roll (3,4) of the roll stand (2) by multiple spray nozzles (7) arranged beside one another. In each case, a mixing chamber (8) of a spray nozzle (7) is fed with a respective quantity of lubricating oil (5) via respective multiple oil inlet openings (9). The respective mixing chamber (8) is fed with compressed air (11) via respectively one air inlet opening (10). Compressed air (11) atomizes the lubricating oil (5) in the respective mixing chamber (8) to form an aerosol and, via respectively at least one nozzle outlet (12), is sprayed onto the rolling stock (1) and/or the at least one roll (3,4) of the roll stand (2).
