Abstract:
A liquid transfer device transferring liquid for enhancing durability of an image on a surface of a printed product printed with ink has a liquid transfer member having a transfer surface contacting the surface of the printed product and transferring the liquid thereto. The liquid transfer member includes a liquid accumulating portion, formed from a sheet form member, accumulating the liquid and a restricting portion supplying the liquid to the transfer surface with restriction. The device further includes a holding member receiving and holding the liquid transfer member. The holding member includes a surface supporting frame formed with an opening exposing a porous film, and a dish shaped receptacle member having a flange mating with a lower surface of the surface supporting frame. The liquid transfer member is housed within a receptacle space defined by the receptacle member and the surface supporting frame.
Abstract:
An oral care implement having an internal reservoir. In one embodiment, the invention can be a toothbrush comprising: a handle having an internal reservoir containing an oral care fluid; a head coupled to the handle; an applicator located on the head; a partition member positioned within the internal reservoir that divides the internal reservoir into a storage chamber and an overflow chamber; a passageway extending through the partition member from the storage chamber to the overflow chamber, the passageway terminating as a first opening in a first surface of the partition member and as a second opening in a second surface of the partition member; and a wick member having a first end in fluid communication with the applicator and a second end terminating in an end surface that abuts the second surface of the partition member to prohibit axial movement of the wick member in a first axial direction.
Abstract:
A surface of a substrate (11) (Fig. 2) is uniformly coated with a liquid (L) by wetting the surface with the liquid and compressibly contacting the wetted surface with an applicator member (10) having an outer layer (14) of a compressible liquid absorbing material with inverse sponge characteristics and an inner layer (13) of compliant material. Preferably, the member (10) is a roller having a silicone rubber or polyurethane inner layer and a chamois outer layer. The substrate is thus coated with a layer having an unusually uniform thickness, including a uniformly thick layer through openings through the substrate. Also, buildup of ridges of the coating caused by dripping is avoided.
Abstract:
In a device for lacquering or coating plates (17) or panels through a capillary slot (24) filled with a liquid coating medium, the plate (17) is conveyed with the surface to be lacquered turned downwards, so that a thin layer deposits by capillarity on the plate (17).
