Abstract:
An inflatable raft 1 comprises an outer skin 3 and a generally toroidal inflatable chamber 5. A one-way valve 9 is provided to allow gas to be inputted into the chamber 5. The raft 1 is placed within a cylindrical enclosure 11, the enclosure having a storage section 13 and a lid 15 attached to the storage section by a spring-loaded hinge 17. The free end is accessible from the outside of the enclosure 11. Once the raft 1 is inside the enclosure 11, the lied 15 is closed. At the place of intended use, air is pumped into the chamber 5 by means of the free end of the valve 9, causing the chamber to inflate. Due to appropriate dimensioning of the enclosure 11, the inflation of the chamber, and so the raft 1, is restricted and the air in the chamber 5 becomes pressurized. When the raft 1 is to be deployed, the lid 15 of the enclosure 11 is opened, and the raft removed from the enclosure, the pressurized air causing the raft 1 to inflate, or expand, to its normal operating condition.

The device (10) includes a transparent body (42), and embedded within the transparent body (42), a printed circuit board (PCB) (46), a plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs) (48) electrically connected to the PCB (46), and a diffuser (16). The diffuser (16) is arranged to diffuse light emitted from the LEDs (48) thereby to illuminate the transparent body (42) to form a light source for identifying a person or an object attached to the device (10).

The device is characterized in that the areas (9) for connecting each group of diodes connected electrically in series are, firstly, offset from one another by a reference distance (D), and, secondly, aligned along an axis, known as a series supply line. The device is also characterized in that within a series of series supply lines, the areas (9) for connecting a line are, in relation to the immediately adjacent lines of the same series, offset by a value substantially equal to the ratio of the reference distance divided by the number of lines in the series.

Disclosed is a glide path indicator (2) comprising a light emitter (20) configured to emit a visible light signal that defines a glide path (14) for use by a pilot of an approaching aircraft (10), and a camera (22) configured to capture images of the approaching aircraft (10), the camera (22) being arranged such that at least part of the glide path (14) defined by the light emitter (20) is located within a field of view of the camera (22). The glide path indicator (2) may be mounted to a vehicle (4), for example, an aircraft carrier. The glide path indicator (2) may further comprise a stabilisation module (26) configured to stabilise the light emitter (20) and the camera (22) so as to reduce or eliminate the effects of the vehicle's motion on the glide path (14) and the field of view of the camera (22).

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Lebensrettungs-Markierungsvorrichtung mit wenigstens einem Schwimmkörper, der im Fall des Überbordgehens einer Person von einem Wasserfahrzeug in der Nähe der Person ins Wasser geworfen wird. Um das Auffinden von der im Wasser schwimmenden Person zu erleichtern ist vorgesehen, dass der Schwimmkörper eine Fahne (1) aufweist, die mindestens in Teilbereichen (4, 5, 6) ihrer Fläche reflektierend ausgebildet ist und/oder aktiv sichtbares Licht emittierend ausgebildet ist.

A cowling for an outboard marine engine includes an upper motor cover, a lower motor cover and a gear case that covers an engine that propels a watercraft. The upper motor cover mates with the lower motor cover and is configured to assist with alignment during assembly. The lower motor cover is configured to be assembled to one of a plurality of upper motor covers depending on engine size, and each upper motor cover is configured to be assembled to one of a plurality of top caps depending on whether the engine uses an electric starter or a pull starter. An illuminator, in the form of a lamp, a removable light or a reflector, is provided on the cowling.

Le générateur d'énergie (12) d'une bouée acoustique est coiffé d'une manche ou cheminée (24) guidant les bulles de gaz (26) dégagées par le générateur (12) jusqu'à une distance suffisante du transducteur électro-acoustique (16) de la bouée pour éviter que ces bulles ne viennent en contact avec le transducteur sous l'effet du pilonnement. Suppression des bruits parasites produits par la rencontre des bulles avec le transducteur.
