Abstract:
A strap (10) made of a first reflecting layer (11) and a second metal layer (12), such as fabric comprising metal yarn, a metal lamina, etc. The strap (10), once coupled the two layers (11, 12) to each other, has a side showing the reflecting material (11) and the other side showing the metal layer (12). The light reflecting part (11) is carried out with a desired known reflecting flexible material, as normally used for rescue equipment for catching the eye during the night. The radar detectable part (12), even if made of metal material does not make the strap heavy to carry and to wear and, in addition to making the strap more resistant, has surprisingly the property of reflecting the electromagnetic waves in order to radar detect missing people at several miles distance. A strap portion (10) radar detectable, since it reflects electromagnetic waves coming from a radar and is light reflecting, can be arranged on rescue equipment like traditional reflecting strap portions that are not radar detectable, such as life jackets, life preservers, life rafts, etc.
Abstract:
The first aspect of the invention is a floating safety device, which is arranged to be anchored in a water system such that, when anchored, a part of the safety device is below the surface of the water and a part of the safety device is above the surface of the water. The safety device is characterized in that the part above the surface of the water comprises a reflector for reflecting radio waves sent by a remote-sensing radar. The second aspect of the invention is a method for defining the location of a floating safety device.
Abstract:

Abstract:
Abstract:
A water surface floating body with light reflective material excelling in durability, being free from the trouble of maintenance, and being able to maintain its reflective capability over long periods of time is provided. This water surface floating body is a water surface floating body such as an oil transport hose, oil fence, anti- pollution dispersing film and the like floated on the surface of water even at night. A light reflective material comprising glass beads having a metal vapor-deposited film provided thereon is attached to the outer surface of the floating body.
Abstract:
Boats adapted for multiple purposes are detailed. Versions of the boats may have performance characteristics and equipment necessary to qualify as rescue boats while normally maintaining appearances appropriate for placement on, for example, yachts as tenders or similar boats. Covers (34) or other transformative materials may be used to modify the appearances of the boats when needed as rescue craft.
