Abstract:
Porous particles can be prepared using an evaporative limited coalescence process in which one or more discrete cavities are stabilized within the continuous polymeric solid phase of the porous particles. The one or more discrete cavities have inner walls and are dispersed within the continuous polymeric solid phase. The porous particles further comprise a cavity stabilizing hydrocolloid on the inner walls of the one or more discrete cavities, and an amphiphilic (low HLB) block copolymer that is disposed at the interface of the discrete cavities and the continuous polymeric solid phase.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for producing a multi-layer material having anisotropic pores. It further relates to a multi-layer material that can be produced by the method according to the invention and to the use of a multi-layer material as a chondral support matrix, meniscus support matrix or intervertebral disk support matrix.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to cross-linked polyolefin aerogels in simple and fiber-reinforced composite form. Of particular interest are polybutadiene aerogels. Especially aerogels derived from polybutadienes functionalized with anhydrides, amines, hydroxyls, thiols, epoxies, isocyanates or combinations thereof.
Abstract:
This application relates to flexible, microporous, open-celled polymeric foam materials with physical characteristics that make them suitble for a variety of uses. This application particularly relates to degassing the components of the high internal phase emulsions which are subsequently cured to form such foams.
Abstract:
Porous dry crumbs of a hydrogenated block copolymer which is obtained by hydrogenating a block copolymer comprising (a) at least one polymer block consisting mainly of aromatic vinyl monomer units and (b) at least one polymer block consisting mainly of conjugated diene monomer units and which has a molecular weight of 70,000 or higher, the crumbs having a water content of 1 wt.% or lower and an oil absorption of 1.0 or higher (the oil absorption is given in terms of the ratio of the weight of an oil absorbed by the crumbs when the crumbs are immersed in the oil for 1 minute at 25 DEG C and ordinary pressure to the weight of the crumbs); and a process for producing the crumbs. When the dry crumbs are used as a modifier for a molding resin composition containing a liquid additive such as a softener or silicone oil, a molded article excellent in appearance can be produced.
