Abstract:
A system and method for the application of friction-modifying coatings to roadways, walkways, pathways and other areas subject to vehicular, human or animal traffic, the system and method comprising the controlled, simultaneous application of binder and filler to a surface of a substrate, using a mobile device which passes over the substrate as the binder and filler are being applied. The system includes a frame coupled to a vehicle. A spray bar is mounted on the frame and includes an array of spray nozzles coupled to a resin container. An air knife is mounted on the frame and coupled to an air compressor for generating an air curtain. An aggregate dispenser bar including at least one aggregate dispenser is coupled to an aggregate bin and mounted on the frame for dispensing aggregate.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a construction machine, in particular a road finishing machine, which can be set to at least two different operating modes by the operator. With a control system, a determined position for a drive can be stored in a first operating mode to which the drive automatically moves during a change from a second operating mode back to the first operating mode. In case of a change of the operating mode from the second operating mode to the first operating mode, several drives can optionally also be simultaneously moved to the previously stored position.
Abstract:
A flow gate includes first and second body members, first and second flow control members, and first and second locking mechanisms. The first and second body members operatively attach to and detach from each other. The first and second flow control members adjust between an open position, a closed position, and a plurality of partially opened positions. The first and second locking mechanisms selectively prevent and allow adjustment of the first and second flow control members. The first and second flow control members prevent the flow of material from an associated spreader when both the first and second flow control members are in the closed position, and allow the flow of material from the associated spreader when either the first or the second flow control member is in the opened position or in one of the plurality of partially opened positions.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a civil engineering machine for spreading material for spreading on soils or base materials, and in particular to a civil engineering machine for spreading binders for soil or base material stabilization, which has a container (3) for material for spreading to receive the material for spreading and a spreading arrangement (5) having one or more outlet openings for the discharge of the material for spreading. The invention relates in this case both to a civil engineering machine which is intended solely for discharging the binder and to a civil engineering machine, and in particular a stabilizer or recycler, which has a milling or mixing rotor by which, directly after the discharge, the binder can be mixed into the soil or base material which has been milled up. The anti-dust arrangement (7), which is arranged below the outlet openings, is characterized in that there is created below the outlet openings a spreading compartment (8) which is bounded by one or more first anti-dust members (7A, 7B, 7C, 7D) and in that there is created an anti-dust space (9) which is bounded by one or more second anti-dust members (8A, 8B, 8C, 8D). What is achieved in this way is that dust which occurs when the material for spreading is being discharged is first retained in the spreading compartment which is surrounded by the first anti-dust members, thus enabling the dust to settle on the ground. Quite a high proportion of the dust is trapped by this means at an early stage. The dust which is not retained in the spreading compartment is then captured in the anti-dust space which is surrounded by the second anti-dust members.
Abstract:
A material application system and a method of using a material application system which incorporate both an input mechanism for use by a programmer to program the material application system and a separate input mechanism, in the form of a switch module, for use by a driver of the vehicle in which the material application system is incorporated during material application. The method includes the steps of: (a) operatively coupling an input mechanism to a programmable controller; (b) while the input mechanism is operatively coupled to the programmable controller, using the input mechanism to program the programmable controller; (c) then operatively uncoupling the input mechanism from the programmable controller; (d) while the input mechanism is operatively uncoupled from the programmable controller, using the material application system to apply the material; and (e) while the input mechanism is operatively uncoupled from the programmable controller, while the switch module is operatively coupled to the programmable controller, and while the material application system is being used to apply the material, using the switch module to modify a material application rate.
Abstract:
A mechanical cam-type apparatus is provided for ensuring even application of agricultural products or the like onto a field or the like from a moving vehicle notwithstanding variations from time to time in the ground speed of the vehicle. The apparatus includes a pair of opposed, yieldably biased-together cam members respectively coupled to the vehicle and spreading apparatus and separably rotatable in accordance with vehicle speed and the operational speed of the spreader; the cams are cooperatively configured and mounted for relative shifting movement caused by differences in the respective rotational speeds thereof, and means coupled between the cams and spreader motor is provided for variably operating the latter in response to the extent of cam shifting in order to automatically regulate spreader output in accordance with vehicle speed. In preferred forms the spreader is powered by a variable output hydraulic motor, and shunt valve apparatus actuated by the described cam shifting is provided for varying spreader output with vehicle speed.
Abstract:
In accordance with an example embodiment, a method of operating a work vehicle with an ejector body may include receiving a position signal indicative of a position of the work vehicle, receiving a target profile indicative of a target topography for an area, receiving an ejection command at a controller and entering the controller into an ejection mode based on the ejection command, and controlling, with the controller, in the ejection mode, at least one of a speed of the work vehicle and a speed of an ejector included in the ejector body based on the position signal and the target profile, to spread a load of material from the ejector body onto a ground surface.
