An electrically conductive structure is provided with a hollow elastic member including an open bottom, a cavity, a pillar extending downward from a center of an inner surface into the cavity, a top platform, at least one hole open to the cavity, and a silver layer formed on a bottom of the pillar. Advantages such as elimination of short circuit and without heavy key depressing are obtained.

A contact element for high voltage direct current switches includes a matrix made of a first material selected from the group comprising copper, silver, palladium, platinum, tungsten, molybdenum, rhenium, nickel, gold, and alloys thereof. The contact element also includes a foreign phase, which is dispersed in the matrix and is made of a second material selected from the group comprising carbon, tin(II) oxide, tin(IV) oxide, zinc(II) oxide, tungsten, nickel and mixtures thereof. The contact element has a porosity of ≦1.0% by volume, based on a total volume of the contact element.

A contact structure for a switch that ensures stable electrical connection. The contact structure includes a substrate. A first fixed contact and a second fixed contact are arranged on the substrate and spaced from each other. An elastically deformable movable contact engages and disengages the first and second fixed contacts. The movable contact includes a recess. A conductive member is arranged on the movable contact for electrically connecting the first and second fixed contacts when the movable contact engages the first and second fixed contacts.

A membrane switch having a pair of flexible printed boards and a pair of contacts respectively disposed on said printed boards. The contacts are formed of powdered alloy of silver and palladium bounded by resinous material, and a conductive layer of silver powder is disposed between the flexible printed board and the contact. Preferably, the powdered alloy contains 50-97 weight percent silver and palladium in the remainder of weight percent.

A two-dimensional coordinate detecting apparatus for use, e.g. over a CRT screen, is arranged such that a potential gradient layer is spaced from a detector layer, one of which is formed of a plurality of fragmentary strips. At a depressed position, the potential gradient layer and the detector layer come into contact, and the coordinates of the depressed position can be detected, by, for example, the potential at the depressed portion, or from factors such as the timing of the voltage detection.

There is disclosed a click disc switch assembly comprising a plate-like base having on it electroconductive ink paths including (a) "row" paths each including a respective row of contact pads in a row-and-column matrix of such pads on the base, and (b) "column" paths corresponding to the columns of the matrix and including respective junction pads. Overlying the columns of the matrix are click disc strips secured to the rest of the assembly solely by being adhered to an overlying sheet sealing the top of the assembly. Interposed between the strips and the "row" paths is an insulating layer deposited on the base to cover portions of the row paths while leaving uncovered their junction pads. Each click disc is electrically coupled to the corresponding "column" path on the base by the coming into contact of the disc when depressed to branch segments of a further electroconductive ink path (one for each click disc strip) deposited on the insulate layer and attached through an aperture therein to the junction pad of that "column" path. Variations in the thickness of the paths on the base and on the layer are cancelled out by depositing on the base, below the click discs, pairs of bars of the same thickness as the lead portions of the paths on the base, and by raising the contact pads by an amount equal to the thickness of the paths on the layer. The base is a laminar member comprising an overlying flexible plastic sheet adhered to an underlying stiffening board. The assembly may include a tail for connecting it to other circuitry.

The membrane keyboard assembly comprises upper and lower membrane keyboards, a spacer interposed therebetween and a common flexible base including two half portions associated with the upper and lower membrane keyboards. The flexible base has silver paint contact areas and connection lines printed thereon and the silver paint connection lines have gaps at spaced points along their length. Resistive layers are applied on the contact areas and connection lines including the gaps therein so that suppression resistances in series connected across the connection lines are formed. The resistance value of the suppression resistances can be varied by suitably selecting the length and width of the connection lines.
