Abstract:
A method for effectively performing roaming between different mobile communication modes and a dual mode terminal therefor are provided to minimize time taken for roaming without using a timer for counting time estimated for preparing roaming. A CDMA modem(310) processes signals transmitted/ received to/from the first communication network. A WCDMA modem(320) transmits/receives packets through a communication path connected with the CDMA modem(310) and processes signals transmitted/received to/from the second communication network. A controller(340) checks whether a mobile terminal is roamed at a position where communication is possible with the CDMA modem(310). When the terminal moves to a communication available area, the controller(340) turns on the WCDMA modem(320). When the WCDMA modem(320) is ready for roaming, the controller(340) connects a switch connected with the CDMA modem(310) to the WCDMA modem(320) to perform a mode according to the WCDMA modem(320).

Abstract:
PURPOSE: A method is provided to increase the capacity of the base station and cell coverage by reducing interference of user terminal. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises a first step(S1) of estimating an initial value of a weight vector; a second step(S2) of calculating a vector and a scalar by using the estimated initial value; and a third step(S3) of updating and standardizing the weight vector through the differential search approach by using the calculated vector and scalar.

PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for assigning a channel of a common packet channel of a CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) communication system is provided to perform a data communication through the common packet channel in an asynchronous CDMA communication system. CONSTITUTION: A MAC(Medium Access Control) layer receives a MAC-DATA-REQ primitive from an RLC(Radio Link Control)(3201), and initializes a variable M value needed for counting a preamble romping cycle and a variable FCT(Frame Counter Transmitted) needed for counting the number of transmitted frame as 0(3202). The MAC layer obtains parameters needed for transmission of a CPCH(Common Packet Channel) from an RRC(Radio Resource Control)(3203). The MAC layer compares a transmission speed capable of transmission in a PCPCH(Physical Common Packet Channel) with a transmission speed required in the PCPCH(3208). If it is an acceptable transmission speed, the MAC selects a transport format(TF) which wishes to transmit the CHCH(3209). The MAC layer derives a random value R for performing a persistency test to attempt whether an access is attempted to the PCPCH for supporting the selected TF(3210). The MAC layer accurately performs an initial delay time(3213) and transmits a PHY-Access_REQ primitive for instructing a physical layer so that the physical layer performs a procedure for transmitting an access preamble to the physical layer(3213). The MAC layer selects a suitable TF and generates a transport block set suitable for the selected TF(3215). The MAC transmits the generated transport block set using the PHY-DATA_REQ primitive(3216). The MAC decreases the FCT by the number of frame corresponding to one TTI(3217), and transmits data to the CPCH(3218).
