    Abstract: An orthopedic cast walker boot (10), that includes a tubular enclosure (12) formed of a semi-flexible material having a first section member (20) for covering the rear of the calf (15), ankle (16), heel (19), and sole (17) of the foot; and a second section member (38) for interfitting with the first section member (20); the second section member (38) having an upper section (40) for covering the shin area (21) of the leg (14), and a lower section (60) for covering the top area (23) of the foot. The upper (40) and lower sections (60) being integrally connected by a pliable and flexible intermediate connecting section (52) having multiple joints (53). Velcro fastening straps (27, 29, 30) are provided for fastening and enclosing the first (20) and second (38) section members to form the tubular enclosure (12) about the leg (14), ankle (16), and the foot of the wearer; and traction treads means (25) are adhesively attached to the bottom surface of the first section member (20).

    Abstract: A cleat (10) for an athletic shoe includes a base plate (11) and a blade (13) having a tapered and slightly curved ground-engagement member (15) and a support member (17) for coupling the engagement member to the base plate. At least one notch (61) is defined by the base plate, the support member and the engagement member for receiving bonding material to attach the cleat to a shoe sole. The configuration of the base plate and blade is such that the cleats may be arranged in closely spaced or abutting relationships. An athletic shoe sole includes an array of such cleats disposed along a substantially circular path to define an annular cleat array, with the cleat blades generally in registry with the path. Pivoting movements are facilitated.

    Abstract: The invention relates to traction cleats for shoes, and in particular to removable golf cleats used in golf and other field sports. The removable cleat has an improved flange (30, 40) design providing a rigid metal surface sufficiently close to the convex side of the reinforced radial support member to effectively engage the pins of the insertion and removal wrench. In a preferred embodiment, the flange member of the cleat has a raised lip (31) on the concave side in the areas immediately surrounding the wrench holes (12) so that the metal at the edges of the holes protrudes towards the convex surface of the radial support member. In another embodiment, eyelets (41) are inserted into the wrench holes and crimped over the edges of the holes.
