Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject glass composition capable of forming highly transparent glass film with on devitrification having thermal expansion coefficient adaptable to soda glass substrates etc., by containing Bi2 O3 , B2 O3 , BaO, SrO, ZnO, CaO, SiO2 and Al2 O3 . SOLUTION: This glass composition for electrical insulation is obtained by heating and melting a mixture composed of 36-80wt.% Bi2 O3 , 5-35wt.% B2 O3 , 5-40wt.% BaO+SrO, 0-9wt.% ZnO, 0-10wt.% CaO, 0-8wt.% SiO2 , and 0-5wt.% Al2 O3 at 960-1,150 deg.C to effect vitrification. This glass composition has a glass transition temperature of 370-540 deg.C and a thermal expansion coefficient of 80-118×10 / deg.C at 30-300 deg.C.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the deformation of an arc passage by a high temperature by providing a ceramic discharge shielding plate having a through-hole, and firmly arranging a positive electrode and a converging electrode in contact with openings on both sides of the through-hole, respectively. CONSTITUTION:A light emitting part assembly 2 is formed of a shielding box structure having alumina discharge shielding plate 21 and support plate 22 stuck to each other, and a metal front cover 23, and it is airtightly housed in a glass envelope. A positive electrode 24 is fixed to be nipped by the front surface of the support plate 22 and the discharge shielding plate 21. An aperture limiting plate 28 has an opening for converging a passage for thermion in a part opposed to the positive electrode 24 through a through-hole 210, and it is fixed to the front side of the discharge shielding plate 21 through a converging electrode 26. A hot cathode 25 is arranged in a space enclosed by the discharge shielding plate 21, the front cover 23, and the extended part of the converging electrode 26 to supply a thermion flow 291 through the opening 262. The ultraviolet ray generated from an arc pole 292 is taken out through the opening 292.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent electrons from being released out of a metalized layer of ceramic by making an annular insulation body project out of the metalized layer in the direction parallel to an electric field to the inside circumferential surface of a negative pole side of an insulation body having the metalized layer. CONSTITUTION:Both end surfaces of a ceramic 1 are provided with metalized layers 2 and with projected portions 3 annularly without being metallized in the direction parallel to an electric field direction. A 1st seal-in dish 4 soldered to the metalized layer 2 is connected to each electrode 7. When a voltage is applied to the electrode 7, the voltage is applied to the gap between the metalized layers 2. Electrons emitted out of the metalized layer 2, however, cannot fly out into the gap as the electrons are prevented from entering there by the projected portions 3 provided on the ceramic 1. This can prevent electrons emitted from the metalized layer from coming out.
