Abstract: A method of transporting non-volatile bituminous materials from a first location to a second location involves carrying a plurality of irregular bricks formed by the bituminous material in transport chambers carried by vehicles. Bricks are defined by a plurality of non-planar surface, which create gaps between adjacent bricks, and can further include polymer skeletons and other features that help them float. The bricks can travel by land, sea, air, or rail and need not be heated while in transit. Transport chambers have active or preferably passive environmental control systems to circulate cooling air, water, or other substances through the transport chamber and the gaps between adjacent bricks. In a preferred embodiment, ambient air circulates among the bricks during travel by land and ambient water circulates among the bricks during marine travel. The vehicles carrying the transport chambers can be low-emissions or zero-emission vehicles including fuel-cell powered trains and ships.

Abstract: A reinforced polycarbonate composition includes 30-60 wt % of a homopolycarbonate; 5-30 wt % of a poly(carbonate-siloxane); 10-40 wt % of a high heat polycarbonate having a glass transition temperature of 170° C. or higher determined per ASTM D3418 with a 20° C./min heating rate; 1-10 wt % of a phosphorous-containing flame retardant present in amount effective to provide 0.1-1.5 wt % phosphorous; 0.01-0.5 wt % of an anti-drip agent; 5-30 wt % of a reinforcing fiber; and optionally, up to 10 wt % of an additive composition, wherein each amount is based on the total weight of the reinforced polycarbonate composition, which sums to 100 wt %. A molded sample of the polycarbonate composition has a heat deflection temperature greater than 115° C., preferably greater than 125° C., more preferably greater than 130° C., or a flame test rating of V1, preferably V0 as measured according to UL-94 at a thickness of 0.8 millimeter, or at a thickness of 0.6 mm, or at a thickness of 0.4 mm.

Abstract: A composition comprising a blend of a first curable ethylene-copolymer and a second curable ethylene-copolymer wherein

(ii) the second curable ethylene copolymer comprises from 45% to 65% by weight, based on the total weight of the second copolymer, of units derived from ethylene, from about 0.5% to 12% by weight of units derived from one or more diene selected from the group consisting of non-conjugated dienes having from 8 to 24 carbon atoms and having at least one cyclic unit and having an endocyclic double bond and a no-terminal exocyclic double bond, and further comprising at 25% by weight, based on the total weight of the second ethylene copolymer, of units derived from propylene, and wherein the total weight of the second ethylene copolymer corresponds to 100%;
(iii) wherein the weight ratio of the first to the second ethylene copolymer is from about 1:10 to 10:1. Also provided are methods of making the compositions and applications of the compositions.-
