Abstract:
The invention concerns a vehicle tank designed to contain a pressurised liquid, consisting of an assembly of metal elements (21 to 2n) produced by swaging, integral with one another, and a base (15, 16) directly mounted on each of the end elements. Each of the elements has the form of a cup and defines an open volume of a particular shape. Each cup comprises a side wall (3) and a base (4) provided with perforations arranged in a particular manner. The invention is useful for making tanks for LPG vehicles.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a pressurised fuel tank with pressure much higher than atmospheric pressure, comprising an inner sealed container (10) not enough resistant to the fuel high pressure to avoid being deformed, and a support shell (12) located entirely outside the inner container, enclosing the greater part of the inner container (10) outer surface and placed in contact with said surface, the shell comprising a honeycombed core (14) whereof the two large surfaces are fixed to adjacent members (16, 18) shaped like sheets. The invention is applicable to motor vehicles using liquefied petroleum gas or natural gas for motor vehicles.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a container for storing compressed gas, comprising a gas-proof, metallic outer wall (1) which encloses the hollow chamber designed for storing the compressed gas and has at least one connection (2) for a gas pipe for filling and/or emptying the container. According to the invention, the hollow chamber contains an open-cell metallic foam (3) which is materially connected to the outer wall (1).
Abstract:
An insulated liquefied gas tank comprises a gas tank (1), connected to whose inner surface are a plurality of elongate stiffening members (1a) and whose outer surface is covered by an insulation layer (4) which comprises a plurality of insulation panels (10). Each panel (10) is connected to the tank by a single support member (9) which is connected to an associated mounting member which is connected to the tank at a position corresponding to that of a stiffening member (1a). Each support member passes through a respective single hole (11) in the associated panel (10) which is retained thereon by a respective fastening member (15) located on the outer end of the support member (9). The hole (11) is larger than the support member (9) and a cylindrical member (12) is provided between the mounting member (6) and the associated panel (10) to protect the latter. Positioned between each panel (10) and the tank (1) is a pad (13) whose width is less than that of the panel (10) and which extends in the direction of the length of the associated stiffening (1a), whereby the panel (10) is spaced from the tank (1) by a clearance (c).
