Abstract:
A water-soluble cutting fluid which is characterized by excellent cooling and lubricating properties and does not exert a harmful influence on the environment. A solution containing hydrogencarbonate ion, bromide ion, carbonic acid ion, and, if necessary, fluoride ion, and being adjusted to a pH of 7.0 to 11.5 can be used as a substitute for a cutting oil. A water-soluble cutting fluid further including additives such as rust-preventive agents and the like can be also used as a substitute for conventional cutting oil.
Abstract:
A lubricant composition comprising a lubricating oil having dispersed therein particles of lithium fluoride, calcium fluoride, and barium fluoride, or mixtures thereof.
Abstract:
A sliding member (1) includes: a back metal layer (2); optionally a porous metal layer (6); and a sliding layer (3). The sliding layer includes: a synthetic resin matrix (4); graphite particles (5) dispersed in the matrix (4) having a volume ratio of 5-50 % of the sliding layer; optionally 1-20 volume % of one or more solid lubricants; and optionally 1-10 volume % of one or more fillers. The graphite particles are composed of spheroidal particle (51) and flake-like particles (52) having a volume ratio of 10-40 % of total graphite particles (5). The spheroidal particles have a cross-sectional structure with a plurality of AB planes laminated along a curved surface. The flake-like particles have a cross-sectional structure with the AB planes laminated in a thickness direction. The spheroidal particles have an average particle size of 3-50 µm, and the flake-like particles have that of 1-25 µm.
Abstract:
Lubricant compositions having at least one base oil composition including about 1.0 to about 15.0 wt% water, and a friction-reducing composition including a glycerol or thioglycerol compositions are described. Methods for making such lubricant compositions and methods of drilling using such lubricant compositions are also described.
Abstract:
Also disclosed is a method for operating an internal combustion engine comprising said lubricating composition and a method for preparing a molybdenum containing friction modifier.
Abstract:
The present invention makes the insertion perception during actual surgery to be equivalent to the insertion perception of a catheter into a blood vessel model when water is used as the circulating fluid. A lubricant regulating fluid primarily composed of water is mixed with an aqueous metal salt and a surfactant as a lubricant regulating agent of the lubricant regulating fluid. A cationic surfactant, an anionic surfactant, a nonionic surfactant, or a dipolar ionic surfactant may be used as the surfactant. Also, the metal salt may be an alkaline metal salt, an alkaline earth metal salt, an aluminum salt, a ferric salt, or the like. In an example, the lubricant regulating fluid obtained by mixing an aqueous metal salt with water is prepared, and the lubrication and non-adherent properties of a catheter into a simulated blood vessel model are improved.
Abstract:
The object of the invention is a traction sheave elevator and a rope that contains metal as a load-bearing material, such as the suspension rope of an elevator, which rope comprises at least one or more strands laid from metal wires and which rope is lubricated with a lubricant. Another object is the use of the aforementioned lubricant for lubricating the rope. The lubricant comprises at least oil and thickener, which thickener in the lubricant comprises at least 10% or more of the mass of the lubricant.
