Abstract:
A method for reforming hydrocarbons comprising coating portions of a reactor system with a material more resistant to carburization, reacting the material with metal sulfides existing in the portions of the reactor system prior to coating, fixating and removing at least a portion of the sulfur in the metal sulfides, and reforming hydrocarbons in the reactor system under conditions of low sulfur.
Abstract:
A method for dehydrogenation comprising: (i) providing a carburization and abrasion resistant protective layer to a steel portion of a dehydrogenation reactor system by (a) applying to the steel portion a metal plating, cladding or other coating of a metal effective for forming a carburization resistant protective layer, to a thickness effective to isolate the steel portion from hydrocarbons during operation while avoiding any substantial liquid metal embrittlement, and (b) forming the protective layer, anchored to the steel portion through an intermediate carbide-rich bonding layer; (ii) catalytically dehydrogenating a dehydrogenatable hydrocarbon.
Abstract:
The combination of a poly(oxyalkylene) hydroxyaromatic ether and a poly(oxyalkylene) amine provides unexpectedly superior deposit control performance and fewer combustion chamber deposits than either component individually.

The present invention relates to a process for preparing crystalline molecular sieves, particularly large pore zeolites, which comprises contacting active sources of one or more oxides selected from the group consisting of monovalent element oxides, divalent element oxides, trivalent element oxides, tetravalent element oxides, and pentavalent element oxides with an organocation templating agent derived from a 3,7-diazabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane.
Abstract:
A crystalline zeolite SSZ-37 is prepared using an N,N-dimethyl-4-azoniatricyclo (5.2.2.O(2,6)) undec-8-ene cation as a template wherein said zeolite is used in hydrocarbon conversion processes.
Abstract:
Molecular sieves, particularly zeolites, are prepared using templates derived from a 4-azonia-tricyclo(5.2.n.O2,6)alkene family of compounds. The templates may be prepared in a series of reaction steps which include a Diels-Alder reaction between a diene and a dienophile.
