Abstract:
The present invention provides polymeric photoinitiators being co-polymers of photoinitiator monomers and at least one further monomer, as well as photoinitiator monomers being intermediates in the preparation of such polymeric photoinitiators. Additionally, there is provided polyacrylate obtained by radical polymerization of at least one acrylate monomer (Ac) in the presence of such polymeric photoinitiators. In the photoinitiator monomers and polymeric photoinitiators, a photoinitiator moiety, a hydrolytic stable linker and two polymerisable functional groups are incorporated into the photoinitiator structure.
Abstract:
A locking ring (1) for an ostomy coupling as well as an ostomy coupling is provided. The locking ring includes two extension arms (4,5) connected at a common fulcrum (6) that will act as a hinge, when the arms are rotated with respect to each other. A toggle-mechanism may be used in the locking ring. The extension arms will through a connection to the locking ring close the locking ring upon rotation.
Abstract:
This invention relates to an operation device especially intended to proceed with an operation inside the body of a living being. This device (10) comprises a control handle and a flexible element (12) provided with a proximal end connected to this control handle. The flexible element (12) comprises at a distal end (14), a steerable area comprising a rigid head. The control handle comprises a control lever arranged for controlling said steerable area (17) of this flexible element. The device of the invention is characterized in that the flexible element (12) comprises at its distal end (14), a retractable tool (21), and this retractable tool being arranged to be operated by said control handle.
Abstract:
A wound dressing comprising an adhesive layer having a skin-facing surface and a non-skin-facing surface, the non-skin-facing surface being provided with a backing layer, the dressing comprises a central portion comprising an absorbent adhesive, and an border portion surrounding the central portion, wherein the skin facing surface of edge portion of the adhesive layer is continuous and the skin facing surface of central portion is interrupted by interconnected cavities. The cavities provide a storage room and distribution centre for wound exudates enabling the dressing to be applied to fast exuding wounds.
Abstract:
A human waste collection bag comprising a front wall facing away from the skin and a rear wall facing towards the skin, the walls being made from flexible material, the bag having an inlet opening for receiving human waste, wherein at least the front wall has a gray or grayish color that provides low contrast to the wearer's skin.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a polymer (P) comprising at least one photoinitiator moiety (PI) and at least one dye moiety (DYE), wherein said at least one photoinitiator moiety (PI) and at least one dye moiety (DYE) are covalently linked to said polymer (P). Additionally, the invention relates to said polymer (P) being end-functionalized with optionally substituted acryloyi groups. The fact that both of these moieties are tightly bonded within the polymer, and the cross-linked polymer, means that the opportunities for leaching/migration of these components is reduced or even eliminated. Inks comprising at least one of said polymers are also provided. Methods for the manufacture of the polymers, and for printing are provided.
Abstract:
An ostomy appliance for attachment to a stoma, comprising an adhesive wafer ( 100 ) a first part of which is covered by a first release liner ( 104 ) and a second part of which is covered by a second release liner ( 106 ). At least one of the two release liners defines an attached part which in an initial state is attached to the skin facing adhesive layer ( 102 ), and a foldable part which in a folded state is folded such that it covers at least a part of the attached part and such that it is not in direct contact with the skin facing adhesive layer. A cutting guide ( 120 ) is printed onto the at least a part of the attached part and the foldable part.
Abstract:
A suturing assembly includes shaft attached between a handle and a head. The handle includes a brace and an actuator attached to the handle, where the actuator has a neutral position that is distal the brace. The shaft defines a longitudinal axis of the assembly. The head includes a proximal portion housing a needle that is movable through a needle exit port, and a distal end spaced apart from the proximal portion by a throat. The distal end is radially offset from the longitudinal axis and defines a cavity. Movement of the actuator from the neutral position to the brace moves the needle both in a first direction out of the needle exit port into the cavity and in a second direction out of the cavity and into the needle exit port.
Abstract:
A pump includes a pump body and a pump bulb that is connected to the pump body, an inlet valve assembly, and an exhaust valve assembly. The pump bulb is operable to move fluid between the reservoir and the cylinder. The inlet valve assembly includes a valve and a tubular sleeve that provides an exit valve seat. The inlet valve assembly is operable to allow a portion of fluid to be drawn from the reservoir through the tubular sleeve and through the inlet channel for delivery into the pump bulb. The exhaust valve assembly is operable to allow the portion of the fluid delivered into the pump bulb to be moved into the cylinder. The valve is movable to contact the exit valve seat and prevent fluid that is flowing from the cylinder to the reservoir from flowing through the inlet channel..
Abstract:
A patch for covering a portion of the anatomical surface of a living being, said patch being able to adhere to the skin or mucosa,and/or a wound, said patch comprising a backing layer and a layer of a skin-friendly adhesive for adhering to the skin or mucosa, wherein said adhesive comprises hydrocolloid particles and zinc sulphate particles, wherein the ratio between the hydrocolloid particles and the zinc sulphate particles is from 4 to 22 w/w.
