Abstract: Composite resin particles including: a polyethylene-based resin and a polystyrene-based resin, wherein the polyethylene-based resin and the polystyrene-based resin are included in the ranges of 50 to 20% by mass and 50 to 80% by mass respectively, with respect to the total of these resins, the polyethylene-based resin is composed of: a first polyethylene-based resin having a medium density to a high density in the range of 925 to 965 kg/m3; and a second polyethylene-based resin which is linear and which has a lower density than the first polyethylene-based resin, and the first polyethylene-based resin and the second polyethylene-based resin are included in the ranges of 90 to 30% by mass and 10 to 70% by mass respectively, with respect to the total of these resins.

Abstract: Disclosed are porous resin particles which contain a polymer of a monomer mixture of a mono(meth)acrylate-based monomer and a polyfunctional vinyl-based monomer. The mono(meth)acrylate-based monomer contains an ethylenic unsaturated group only in a (meth)acrylic acid residue, a hydroxyl group in an alcohol residue, and at least one of an ether group and an ester group in an alcohol residue. The polyfunctional vinyl-based monomer contains two or more ethylenic unsaturated groups. The porous resin particles have a water absorption value of from more than 400 ml to 700 ml per 100 g of the particles and an oil absorption value of from more than 400 ml to 700 ml per 100 g of the particles.

Abstract: A light diffuser and its use are provided, which not only reduces a color change in a source light when the light diffuser is disposed on an optical path of a light source, but also has a good light transmission property and a good light diffusion property. The light diffuser contains a thermoplastic resin and transparent particles added thereto. The total light transmittance of the light diffuser is 75% or more. The degree of dispersion of the light diffuser is 2° or more, the degree of dispersion being defined as a transmission angle at which a light transmittance is 50% of a rectilinear light transmittance when light is emitted to a surface of the light diffuser in a direction normal to the surface. The difference between the rectilinear light transmittance at 460 nm and the rectilinear light transmittance at 580 nm of the light diffuser is 0.96% or less.

Abstract: Composite resin particles comprising 50 to 800 parts by mass of a polystyrene-based resin with respect to 100 parts by mass of a polyolefin-based resin, wherein: when transmission electron microscope (TEM) images obtained by photographing cross-sections of the composite resin particles using a TEM at a magnification of 1,000 are subjected to a binarization processing and areas in the obtained binarized images which correspond to a cross-sectional area of 437.584 μm2 of the composite resin particles are subjected to image analysis, the polystyrene-based resin satisfies the following requirements: (1) the number of dispersed particles is 180 or more; (2) the maximum of the areas of dispersed particles is 200 μm2 or less; and (3) the coefficient of variation in dispersion is 100% or more, and the composite resin particles exhibit an inner morphology that includes a mixture of sea-island structure regions and co-continuous structure regions.
