Abstract: PURPOSE: To change width in the longitudinal direction by providing a approxi mately L-shaped slender receiver, and a slender strip member to be supported by the receiver so that one arm part of the receiver is lapped on at least a part of the strip member in an assembled condition. CONSTITUTION: A side molding part 10 is provided with an L-shaped slender receiver 12 formed of a first arm part 14 and a second arm part 16, and a slender strip member 18 supported by the member 12. In a condition where the members 12 and 18 are assembled to form the side molding 10, the arm part 14 of the member 12 is lapped on a part 20 of the member 18 to shield the outer side of the part 20 when the side molding 10 is assembled with an automobile V. A part 22 of the member 18 where the arm part 14 is not lapped is kept visible. The width of the side molding 10 in the longitudinal direction is adjusted by adjusting a groove 28 between a surface 24 of the part 20 and a surface 26 of the arm part 16.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To support a window pane on a glass run channel without vibration, and improve sealability of the channel with component members by providing a roll-molded thin and long metal core body, and the glass run channel on an extrusion-molded cover having rubber-like elasticity to cover the whole outer surface of the core body. CONSTITUTION: Support legs 26, 28 of a structural body 10 are similar to each other, the support leg 28 has a hollow leg part 32, a hollow web 34, and a leg part 36, and it is provided with a core body 30 having a roughly U-shaped cross section. The core body 30 is manufactured by roll-molding a zinc-iron plate, stainless steel plate, aluminum plate or the like in a U-letter form. Next, the whole body of the core body 30 is completely surrounded without disconnection, and a cover 46 to be coupled with it is formed by elastomer material common-extrusion-molded onto the core body 30 to have rubber-like elasticity. The cover 46 has a main car body seal 48 to be sealably engaged with an adjacent door frame 22 to seal the frame 22 to the structural body 10. Next, the structural body 10 is formed in a roughly U-shaped cross section so as to have a glass run channel 52.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To easily assemble a molding by providing a sealing and energizing member which seals a window pane in a glass access groove and pressing the end edge part of the window pane against one leg part of a L-shaped part. CONSTITUTION: A glass run molding 10 comprises a generally U-shaped cross-sectional part 18 and a L-shaped cross-sectional part 19. In a glass access groove 22, a hollow and tubular sealing and energizing member 28 is disposed so as to seal a window pane 16 in the groove 22 and position the window pane 16 generally in flush the outer surface of the window pane 16 with an adjacent body panel by energizing the window pane 16 outward toward a leg part 25. The U-shaped part 18 and L-shaped part 19 is provided with a metallic reinforcing core body 30 covered with an elastomer material. Thus the sliding of the window pane 16 in the glass access groove 22 and a sealing between the molding 10 and the window pane 16 are assured.

The marking 14 is formed of a proper number of characters 16, etc., and an upper layer 22 comprising transparent plastic is provided on an upper surface of it. In this case, the strip 10 is provided with a base 18, a metallized film layer 20 is provided on the base 18, and a transparent plastic coating layer 34 is provided on the metallized film 20. A window hole 26 is formed on the base 18, and an insert 24 is inserted into the window hole 26. Close to the window hole 26, a passage hole 36 to inject plastic material to form the upper layer 22 is formed.

First and second members 36, 38 are provided to form a weatherstrip sub-assembly for sealing the window glass panel 22 along the rear view mirror.
