Abstract: A concrete casted paving stone of rectangular shape is described and has two pairs of opposed parallel side walls. In a first of the two pairs of side walls, an engaging projection is formed in one side wall and a through slot in the other side wall for receiving the stone-engaging projection of another paving stone therein. The second pair of opposed parallel side walls each have a slot and a further stone-engaging projection in a section thereof. The stone-engaging projections of the second pair of side walls are disposed adjacent the side wall of the first pair which contains the slot and the slot extends through the rear wall of these stone-engaging projections. The paving stone may be used as a permeable paving stone wherein to evacuate water from an upper surface of a paved surface into the underlying support bed.

Spacers are formed integral in a base portion of one wall of the first pair and in a portion of one wall of the second pair, to form open joints about each block to communicate with a support bed.

A further spacer is also formed integral in a portion only of one side wall of the second pair of transverse parallel side walls. The spacers form open joints about each block in portions thereof to communicate with a support bed. The paver blocks, when interconnected together, form a permeable paved surface.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for roughing surfaces of concrete casted blocks are provided. A horizontally disposed surface roughing device, hawing impacting elements secured thereto, is driven to impact on blocks supported thereunder on a support table. The support table has a flat support upper surface. Block tilt support pins project from the upper surface at predetermined locations for supporting some of the blocks tilted at a predetermined angle. The block tilt support pins are displaceable from a retracted position below the upper surface to a projecting block tilting position above the upper surface. A displacement mechanism imparts translationary displacement between the impacting elements and the support table to abrade the blocks.

Abstract: A pre-cast cobblestone (10) is comprised of a concrete body (11) of substantially rectangular outline and having a top and bottom wall (13-14) and opposed side walls (15). The top wall (13) is embossed and the side walls (15) have longitudinally shaped flat side surfaces (15'). At least two of the side walls have spaced-apart protruding sections (16-17, 18-19) of irregular transverse cross-section which are aligned with straight intersecting outer parallel axes (12-12') of the side walls. The side walls (15) also have recessed sections (19) of irregular transverse cross-section defined between the protruding sections. When the cobblestones (10) are laid on a support surface in substantially straight aligned relationship to define a pavement (22), they are offset end-to-end and irregularly interlocked by some of the protruding sections (16, 17, 18, 19) of some of the cobblestones entering into the irregular recessed sections (19) of other of the cobblestones to prevent shifting of the cobblestones in the pavement (22).

Abstract: A transport apparatus for the engagement, orientation and installation of a unit of paving blocks is comprised of a support frame having a pair of spaced- apart aligned pivot connections. Support arms are pivotally connected to each pivot connection under the support frame. Two or more spaced-apart parallel block engaging arms are displaceably secured by connecting posts to the pair or parallel support arms. A piston simultaneously displaces the parallel support arms and the block engaging arms. The block engaging arms each have two or more suction cups for releasable securement to a top face of respective ones of paving blocks in the unit of paving blocks. When the piston rod of the piston is at a first position all of the suction cups are aligned on transverse parallel axis and when at a predetermined second position they are disposed in alignment on parallel angulated axis. The method of installation is also described.

Abstract: A casted block molding apparatus, including a mold, first and second filler boxes, and a pressing mechanism. The first filler box is displaceable along opposed directions between an overlapping position where a first bottom opening is located over the mold cavities and a retracted position away from the mold cavities. The first bottom opening is closed by a first cover in the retracted position and is open over the mold cavities. The second filler box is mounted to the first filler box and displaceable therewith along the opposed directions. The bottom opening of the second filler box is closed by a second cover when the filler boxes are displaced from the retracted position to the overlapping position. The second bottom opening is open after the first filler box reaches the overlapping position. A method for molding casted blocks is also discussed.

Abstract: A culvert structure interconnectable with interconnectable paver blocks. The culvert structure comprises an elongated rigid casing having a bottom wall, opposed parallel vertical side walls, and an open top end.
