    Abstract: A method and a system for controlling an equalizer of a music player are provided to set different frequencies for different genres of music and to control the equalizer according to the classified genre. A system for controlling an equalizer(100) of a music player comprises a first sound mode sensing unit(110), a second sound mode sensing unit(120), and an equalizer controller(130). The first sound mode sensing unit classifies category using audio feature value extracted from a consecutive audio stream, and senses a first sound mode for controlling the equalizer according to classified categories. The second sound mode sensing unit classifies music source with genre using highlight extracted from the music, and senses a second sound mode for controlling the equalizer. The equalizer controller selects the sound mode to be controlled by analyzing the first and second sound modes, and regulates the equalizer according to selected sound mode.

    Abstract: A method and a device for providing a data summary are provided to generate a natural data summary by extracting summary words in reflection of morphemes, syntax formation, and a meaning of text included in caption, and reorganizing the extracted summary words in a form suitable for understanding contents. A preprocessor(801) generates a target text from the caption. A word extractor(802) analyzes the morpheme of the words included in the target text, analyzes the syntax structure of the target text by referring to the morpheme, and extracts/removes an unused word from the target text by using information for the morpheme or the syntax structure. The word extractor determines a subject and a predicate, and extracts an important sentence component for the subject/predicate as a candidate summary word by referring to the syntax information. A summary generator(803) generates the summary by replacing a complex noun or predicate phrase among the candidate summary words with a corresponding replaceable word based on a database and rearranging the candidate summary words according to a predetermined rule.
