Abstract: A method of manufacturing a bubble-jet type ink jet printhead. The method includes forming resistive heater elements on a substrate, forming a patterned electrode layer on the resultant structure, forming an insulating layer over the resultant structure, forming barrier walls on the resultant structure and attaching a nozzle plate on the resultant structure. The method may further include etching a hole in the insulating layer, forming a second electrode layer over the etched insulating layer to contact the resistive heater elements and forming a second insulating layer thereon, where the barrier walls and then the nozzle plate are formed on top of the second insulating layer. The barrier walls group together resistive heater elements in pairs and form barriers between different pairs of resistive heater elements.

Abstract: A bubble-jet type ink jet printhead and manufacturing method thereof are provided. In the printhead, a manifold for supplying ink and a concave ink chamber is integrated with a substrate by being recessed from the same surface of the substrate, and a nozzle palate on the substrate in which a nozzle is formed and a round-shaped heater surrounding the nozzle are integrated without a complex process such as bonding. Thus, this simplifies the manufacturing procedure and facilitates high volume production. Furthermore, the round-shaped heater forms a doughnut-shaped bubble to eject ink, thereby preventing a back flow of ink as well as formation of satellite droplets which may degrade image resolution.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An inkjet printer head in a bubble jet type is provided to form a bubble of a doughnut shape by expanding force of a circular heater and to discharge droplet generated in the circular bubble toward a vertical direction of a nozzle plate. CONSTITUTION: An inkjet printer head of a bubble jet type comprises a base plate(100); a nozzle plate(103) mounted on an upper portion of the base plate; a nozzle(102) formed on the nozzle plate; an enhanced heater(50) surrounding the nozzle of the nozzle plate by being arranged on the nozzle plate; an ink chamber(101) mounted on the base plate; and high resistance unit(A'). The heater generates heat by receiving electric current into the heater. The high resistance unit generates bubble to pressurize ink(105) contained in the chamber of the base plate. Thereby, the inkjet printer head of the bubble jet type forms the bubble of a doughnut shape by expanding force of the circular heater. Moreover, the inkjet printer head of the bubble jet type discharge droplet generated in the circular bubble toward a vertical direction of the nozzle plate.

Abstract: PURPOSE: Print head structure of an inkjet printer is provided not to have a process for forming a manifold and to prevent the mechanical strength from getting weak by a manifold, by not forming a manifold passing through a substrate, and using a space between two plates as a manifold. CONSTITUTION: Plural ink discharge ports are formed on two substrates(120a,120b). Heaters(125) for generating bubbles are mounted on the surface of each substrate. Walls(127) are formed at both left and right sides of the heaters to form ink chambers respectively. Bonding pads(126,126') are connected to the tip of wires(134,134') for feeding an electric signal. Each ink discharge ports are driven and controlled according to the electric signal. The bonding pads and the wire are made by metals such as Al at the same time. The substrates of a print head have no additional manifold. In the print head, a manifold is not formed but a space between the substrates is used as a manifold. Thereby, an additional process for forming a manifold is not required. In addition, the mechanical strength of the print head is kept regular.
