Abstract:
PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for allotting preamble to a mobile relay station in a communication system are provided to prevent the collision of preamble between mobile stations by allotting relay station codes in consideration of RSSI(Received Signal Strength Indication) and preamble collision probability. CONSTITUTION: A controller senses a preamble allocation request of a mobile RS(Relay Station)(513), and determines the preset location of a corresponding mobile RS(515). The controller detects a collision possible area in a current location(517), and calculates preamble collision probability by other mobile RSs(519). The controller determines the RS codes of the mobile relay station(521), and allots the mobile RS codes to a BS(Base Station) preamble(523).
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A system for an emergency call in a wireless communication system and a method thereof are provided to prevent inter-cell interference during the emergency call. CONSTITUTION: An emergency call terminal(210) requests an emergency call. If the emergency call request is received, a serving base station decides an emergency call transmission resource. The serving base station requests that adjacent base stations(120) do not use the emergency call transmission resource. The serving base station informs the decided emergency call transmission resource to a relay terminal.

PURPOSE: A call connection apparatus of a terminal in a wireless telecommunications system using a relay mode, a method thereof and a system thereof are provided to supply a communication service to a non-service terminal and minimize the power consumption of the terminal. CONSTITUTION: A normal mode operator activates a terminal to a normal mode. The base station and data are received and transmitted in the normal mode. A relay mode operator(2110) activates the terminal to the relay mode. A non-service terminal of the service area is relayed to the base station. A controller(2103) drives a normal mode operation unit and detects the preamble in case the terminal detects the preamble. If the call connection request is received from the out of service terminal, the controller operates the relay mode operation unit.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for supporting an idle mode in a wireless communication system are provided to reduce the power consumption by reducing an unnecessary receive waiting time of the paging advertisement message by notifying the existence of a paging advertisement message. CONSTITUTION: A paging related parameter information includes a paging cycle(100), a paging offset(120), and a paging listening interval(130). The paging cycle and the length of the paging offset are set up according to a primary broadcast information transmission interval(110). A terminal which does not secure the primary broadcast information in advance optimizes receive waiting time of the primary broadcast information.

An apparatus and a method for transmitting and receiving data while preventing the waste of the resources are provided to transmit and receive data without waste of frequency resource in consideration of interference between terminals. A base station receives the selected region area information of each terminals from each terminal from relay stations related to each terminals(411). The base station performs the resource allocation(413). The base station transmits the resource allocation information allocated to the repeater station related to the base station to each repeater station. Data are transmitted through the resources in which the base station is allocated(415). The repeater station receives the resource allocation information from the base station. The repeater station transmits data to the allocated resources to the terminal.

A scheduling apparatus appropriate for a voice packet network service in which the transmission period is changed in a silence section and a talkspurt section, and a method therefor are provided to minimize the waste of radio resources, and reduce the overhead of MAP messages in the silence section. A buffer in which a voice packet received from an upper layer is stored is confirmed to check whether the change of a data transfer rate is perceived(701). If the change of the data transfer rate is sensed, a terminal inspects the change of the data transfer rate(703). If the change of the data transfer rate increases, the terminal transmits a voice bandwidth request header in which ST value is set as 1 through the allocated resources(705), and then receives an UL_MAP message(709). In case the change of the data transfer rate decreases, the terminal transmits a grant management sub header to the base station through the piggyback(707), and then receives the UL_MAP message(707).

A method for efficiently using radio resources in a wireless communication system based on a repeater, and an apparatus therefor are provided to reduce the data transmission delay by not assigning separate resources to each path. A call is established with an originating terminal. The location area of a destination terminal from the originating terminal is confirmed. According to the location area, the call is established with the destination terminal. The method for establishing the call with the originating terminal comprises the following steps of: receiving a call establishment request message from the originating terminal(1500); and transmitting the call establishment response message to the originating terminal. The method for establishing the call with the destination terminal according to the location area comprises the following steps of: when the originating terminal and destination terminal are located within the service coverage of a repeater, transmitting the call establishment information and authentication/accounting information to a base station; and exchanging control information for the call establishment with the base station(1510).

A method and an apparatus for transmitting and receiving data in a communication system are provided to save required resources in transmitting data as a BS(Base Station) and an RS(Relay Station) transmit identical data in multicast. If the first data to be transmitted are generated, a BS detects and groups the first and second MSs(Mobile Stations) which will receive the first data. In order to transmit data to the MSs in multicast together with an RS, the BS transmits the first data to an RS through the first interval which uses the first resource of a downlink sub-frame(400). The first MS receives the first data transmitted to the RS from the BS(402). If the RS receives the first data transmitted from the BS, the RS transmits the first data to the second MS which belongs to the RS(404). In this case, the first data are transmitted through the second interval which uses the second resource of the downlink sub-frame.
