A retransmission apparatus and a method thereof in a wireless relay communication system are provided to transmit an ARQ(Automatic Retransmission reQuest) feedback message more efficiently, by generating all retransmission request messages for terminals received in the present uplink section as one message. According to a retransmission method of a relay station in a wireless communication system, data is received from a transmitter and the received data is transmitted to more than one receiver. ACK/NACK information of the data are received from the receiver, and the received ACK/NACK information are transmitted to a base station.

A signal transmitting/receiving device and a signal transmitting/receiving method in a communication system are provided to increase efficiency in transmitting/receiving a signal of the communication system using a non-binary LDPC(Low Density Parity Check) code. A method for transmitting a signal in a signal transmission device of a communication system includes the steps for receiving an information vector; generating a non-binary LDPC codeword by encoding the information vector in an LDPC encoding method; and transmitting the generated non-binary LDPC codeword. The LDPC encoding method generates the non-binary LDPC codeword by encoding the information vector correspondently to a parity check matrix. The parity check matrix includes an information part corresponding to the information vector, a first parity part corresponding to a first parity vector, and a second parity part corresponding to a second parity vector. The information part and the first and second parity parts include plural part blocks. Each part block include plural sub matrixes.

A transceiving device in a multi-user multi-antenna communication system and a method are provided to use limited quantization feedback without using a mutual channel relation, thereby reducing an overhead in case of feeding back as lowering calculation complexity of a transmitter filter. A user terminal(310) performs channel estimation by using a pilot of a preamble in a downlink frame sent from a base station(300)(a). The terminal calculates quantized CSI(Channel State Information) and CQI(Channel Quality Information) by using the estimated channel information(b), and sends the calculated information to the base station(c). The base station calculates a transmitter filter by using the received information(d), and sends an optimized transmitter filter to the terminal(e). The terminal estimates a channel by using a downlink sounding pilot, and calculates a receiver filter by using the estimated value(f).

An apparatus and a method for transmitting and receiving a signal in a communication system are provided to reduce the complexity of encoding and to improve the capability of error correction by using zigzag B-LDPC(Block Low Density Parity Check) codes. A method for transmitting and receiving a signal in a communication system includes the steps of: receiving information vectors; encoding the received information vector with a zigzag B-LDPC(Block Low Density Parity Check) encoding method to generate a zigzag B-LDPC code word; and transmitting the generated zigzag B-LDPC code word.

An apparatus and a method for interleaving/deinterleaving a signal in a communication system are provided to prevent performance deterioration in an HOM method by transceiving signals through LDPC codes. An apparatus for interleaving/deinterleaving a signal in a communication system includes the steps of: receiving LDPC(Low Density Parity Check) codes; and interleaving the LDPC codes in correspondence to an interleaving method set by considering a modulation method used for a signal transmitting apparatus. The interleaving method is generated by considering at least one of a stopping set of a parity check matrix of the LDPC codes or a modulation order corresponding to the modulation method.

An apparatus and a method for reducing a map channel overhead in a broadband wireless communication system are provided to simplify a source request procedure by performing a direct random access through data and receiving a feedback about success with a bitmap. An apparatus for reducing a map channel overhead in a broadband wireless communication system includes a map channel(101), down/up data bursts, and an uplink control channel(107). The map channel(101) locates source allocation of downlink and uplink. The down/up data bursts consist of fixed assignment regions(103,109) and dynamic assignment regions(105,111). The dynamic assignment regions(105,111) are allocated to users having a fine channel condition. The fixed assignment regions(103,109) are allocated to the users having a bad channel condition or using a small size service such as VoIP(Voice over Internet Protocol). The uplink control channel(107) transmits information of a random access for ranging and source allocation, a channel information feedback, and a hybrid ARQ.

An apparatus and a method for obtaining channel state information in wireless relay networks are provided to reduce feedback signals and minimize a waste of resources, in the case of using a fixed RS(Relay Station), and to transmit signals adaptively according to channel conditions by using the channel information between a source, an RS, and a BS(Base Station). A BS, if uplink signals are received from an RS and an MS(Mobile Station), estimates the channels of SD(Source-to-Destination) and SR(Source-to-Relay station) links using the pilot signals contained in the received uplink signals(311,313). Also the RS receives an uplink signal from the MS and estimates the channel of an RD(Relay station-to-Destination) link using the pilot signal contained in the received uplink signal(312,315). Then the RS creates a pilot signal to be transmitted to the BS and adjusts the power of the created pilot signal using the power of the pilot signal contained in the received uplink signal(317). The RS transmits the created pilot signal to the BS(319). The BS measures the power of the pilot signal transmitted from the RS and estimates the channel of the RD link using the measured pilot signal power and the estimated SR link channel value(321).
