본 발명에 의하면, 잉크젯 화상형성장치를 이용하여 화상을 인쇄하는 경우, 프린터 헤드를 좌우로 이동시켜 결함 노즐에 의한 인쇄 위치를 분산시킴으로써, 인쇄 화상에서 사용자에 의해 쉽게 인지되는 흰 선(white band)과 같은 인쇄 화질 열화를 방지할 수 있으며, 결함이 발생된 노즐을 보상하여 사용함으로써 프린터 헤드의 수명을 연장시킬 수 있다.
