Abstract: A method for storing and displaying bookmarks in a mobile terminal is provided to enable a user to recognize webpages easily by displaying stored webpage images when a request to display a bookmark list is made. A control part in a mobile terminal confirms whether the mobile terminal accesses a web server(S301,S303). If the mobile terminal is connected with the web server, the control part executes webpage searching. In this case, the control part displays a specific webpage according to a specific URL(Uniform Resource Locator) inputted through a key input part(S305). Then the control part confirms whether a bookmark request is made(S307). If the bookmark request is generated, the control part confirms whether an image file the displayed webpage provides exists(S308). If so, the control part extracts the image file which contains the title and logo of the webpage(S310). Using the extracted image file, the control part bookmarks the webpage(S312).

Abstract: A web site searching method of a portable terminal is provided to be capable of easily moving to a desired web site part when a user accesses a frequently connected web site or a structured web site, while the user can immediately move to a desired part of the web site from a bookmark, thereby improving the user's convenience. For a bookmark request, a requested bookmark function is confirmed(S301-S305). If the bookmark function is registered, it is confirmed whether a site map exists on a web site by connecting to the registered web site according to a site map sync request while the web site is registered(S307,S309). If the site map exists, link information of the site map is detected and received, and a menu tree is configured according to a structure of the link information, so that the configured menu tree is displayed(S311,S315).
