Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for joining in a network according to a user command and an associated group, and a device using the same are provided to conveniently form a network by preventing the inconvenience that the device searches every device which participates in the network. CONSTITUTION: If another mobile phone in which a link button is pressed does not exist, the mobile phone participates in a host(S920,S925). If the group of the other mobile phones is identical to a selected group, the mobile phone allows the searched mobile phone to participate in the network as a guest(S935,S945), If a user selects one of services, the mobile phone performs the selected service with other guests which participate in the network(S950).

Abstract: A transmit-receive apparatus in a portable terminal and a method thereof are provided to increase antenna efficiency by using a multi-mode portable terminal which comprises the first antenna to receive radio signals for call processing and the second antenna to receive diversity signals. A control part in a multi-mode portable terminal, which supports at least two mobile communication systems, receives a radio signal(301). The control part confirms whether the received radio signal is of the first communication mode(303). If so, the control part directs a communication part to establish a communication path corresponding to the first communication mode(305). In this case, the communication part connects the first switch, connected with the first antenna, to the first transceiver. Also the control part directs the communication part to connect the second switch, connected with the second antenna, to the first transceiver. Then the control part receives the radio signal through the first antenna and a diversity signal through the second antenna and forwards the received signals to the first modem(309,311).
