Abstract: PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for authenticating a user based on keystroke dynamics pattern data are provided to authenticate a user who inputs keystroke dynamics pattern information. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus(100) for authenticating a user based on keystroke dynamics pattern data comprises a pattern gathering part(110), a keystroke dynamics database(120), and a similarity analysis part(130). The pattern gathering part generates keystroke dynamics pattern information for the keystroke which is inputted by a user through an input interface. A keystroke dynamics database stores collected keystroke dynamics pattern information.
