PURPOSE: A video encoding/decoding device using an adaptive conversion encoding/decoding region based on characteristic of a differential signal and a method thereof are provided not to include a boundary region signal inside a converting and encoding block, thereby increasing energy compaction of a signal after converting and encoding. CONSTITUTION: A signal divider(131) divides a differential signal of an image block into a non boundary area signal and a boundary area signal. A converting and encoding unit(133) performs a DCT(Discrete Cosine Transform) of the non boundary area signal. A quantization unit(135) quantizes the DCT-converted non-boundary area signal in a frequency domain. A spatial area quantization unit(137) quantizes the boundary area signal in a space area.

본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 쿼드 트리 구조를 이용하는 영상 복호화 방법은 부호화 단위에서 통합 코드 블록 플래그 정보를 복호화 하는 단계와; 상기 통합 코드 블록 플래그 정보와 변환 단위의 크기 정보를 기초로 분할 정보 플래그를 복호화 하는 단계와; 상기 분할 정보 플래그를 기초로 상기 변환 단위가 추가로 분할되지 않는 경우 상기 변환 단위의 코드 블록 플래그 정보를 복호화 하는 단계를 포함하고, 상기 분할 정보 플래그를 복호화 하는 단계는 상기 변환 단위의 변환 계수가 존재하지 않는 경우, 상기 분할 정보 플래그를 복호화 하지 않을 수 있다. 따라서, 부/복호화 효율을 높이고 복잡도를 감소시킬 수 있다.

PURPOSE: A block information coding/decoding method using quad tree and a device thereof are provided to express conversion factor information and division information in a current conversion unit by using integrated code flag information and division information flag. CONSTITUTION: An image decoding device decodes integrated code block flag information of the current conversion unit(S1100). The image decoding device decodes the division information flag based on the size information of the current conversion unit and the integrated code flag information(S1110). When the integrated code block flag and the conversion unit information combining flag are used, the processes can be changed.

PURPOSE: A method for encoding/decoding an image using error compensation and a device thereof are provided to minimize the capacity of transmission data and increase the efficiency of image encoding/decoding. CONSTITUTION: A decoder derives a pixel value of a prediction block for the current block from the previously decoded blocks(S310). The decoder derives a sample value of an error compensation block for the current block(S320). The decoder derives a pixel value of the final prediction block for the current block by using the pixel value of the prediction block and the error compensation value(S330).

PURPOSE: An encoding method for hierarchical variable block conversion and a device thereof, and a decoding method and a device thereof are provided to convert and encode a differential block based on conversion type information. CONSTITUTION: An encoding device generates a plurality of prediction blocks by prediction encoding of encoding blocks according to a plurality of prediction mode information(104). The encoding device generates a plurality of differential blocks by the prediction blocks and the encoding blocks(105). The encoding device converts the differential blocks according to predefined conversion type information or adaptively determined conversion type information(106). The encoding device determines one of the converted differential blocks as a final block(107).
