Abstract: PURPOSE: A packet-light integration switching system and a protection switchover method thereof are provided to perform protection switchover operation for a packet path by generating a protection switchover reserve patch by using reserve resources. CONSTITUTION: A protection recovery control device(140) controls the protection switchover of each packet path or optical path of packet-light integration switches. If malfunction occurs in the packet path, the protection recovery control device generates a virtual reserve path by using reserve resources of the optical path. The protection recovery control device performs the protection switchover of the packet path by using the virtual reserve path. Each of the packet-light integration switches includes a packet layer switching device, an optical layer switching device, and a signal matching device. The signal matching device fetches a packet signal and an optical signal.
