Abstract: PURPOSE: A device and a method for certifying a user using a fingerprint characteristic point are provided to match the characteristic point on a limited hardware resource environment such as a smart card and a USB(Universal Serial Bus) token by reducing the memory use for the entire bins, and to enhance the safety of the biometric data by preventing the fingerprint data of a user from leaking out. CONSTITUTION: A fingerprint image input part(10) provides a scanned fingerprint image for registration to a host(30) through an I/O(Input/Output) interface(20), scans the fingerprint image of the user wanting the certification, and provides the scanned fingerprint image to the host(30) through the I/O interface(20). The host(30) includes a CPU(32) and a memory(34). The CPU(32) extracts the characteristic point from the fingerprint image for the registration, and simultaneously provides it to the memory(34) and a security token part(40). The memory(34) stores the characteristic point information for a registered fingerprint and the certification provided from the CPU(32). Abstract: PURPOSE: A system for authenticating a user using fingerprint information and a method thereof are provided to authenticate a user with a high security using an authentication server and with accuracy using a personal device such as a smart card. CONSTITUTION: A fingerprint input unit(110) receives fingerprint information of a user. A feature point extracting unit(120) extracts a feature point of a fingerprint using the user fingerprint information. An accumulation table constituting unit(130) constitutes an accumulation table using the feature point extracted in the feature point extracting unit(120) and transmits the accumulation table through a network(200). An accumulation table matching unit(330) compares accumulation table information with respect to fingerprint information of a user constituted in the accumulation table constituting unit(130) transmitted through the network(200) with a feature point accumulation table with respect to a pre-stored fingerprint of the user, analyzes the matching, and executes a user authentication.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A safety device for a gun using biometrics and a control method thereof are provided to control permission to use a gun by recognizing the identity of a user from bio information including the iris and finger vein patterns of the user. CONSTITUTION: A safety device for a gun using biometrics comprises an iris recognition part(110), a finger vein recognition part(120), and a controller(130). The iris recognition part is installed in the iron sight of a gun and analyzes infrared rays reflected off user's eyes to obtain an iris image. The finger vein recognition part is installed in the trigger of the gun, scans infrared rays to user's finger contacting the trigger, and analyzes the infrared ray passing through the finger to obtain a finger vein image.
