Abstract: PURPOSE: A scattered oil interference isolating structure on a breather line is provided to prevent the interference of scattered oil in an inlet of a breather line by installing a U-section pipe. CONSTITUTION: A U-section pipe(13) is installed in an inlet(6a) of a breather line, and a gas flow hole(14) is formed on the side of the U-section pipe. An oil drain hole(15) of which diameter is smaller than that of the U-section pipe is formed in the lower end of the U-section pipe. Most of scattered oil for the cooling and lubrication of a piston collides against the U-section pipe and falls to the lower end of a crankcase(3). As blow-by gas flows in through the gas flow hole, the inlet is not interfered by the oil. The blow-by gas collected in the crankcase is smoothly discharged to a rocker cover through the fully opened inlet. Some of the oil flowing into the U-section pipe falls by the gravity. Simultaneously the oil is separated from the blow-by gas and collected via the oil drain hole. Simply the blow-by gas moves to the rocker cover along the breather line.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A heat protector of an exhaust manifold of an internal combustion engine is provided to absorb deformation caused by the compression and expansion of the heat protector covering the exhaust manifold. CONSTITUTION: In a heat protector(20) of an exhaust manifold, connective holes are bored to be connected with a boss(24) of the exhaust manifold(22) by a bolt(26). A damper hole(32) is bored to prevent a contraction and expansion force from being transferred between the connective holes(28,30). The contraction and expansion force is not transferred to the connective holes by forming the damper hole or a wrinkle portion on the heat protector. Accordingly, a crack is not generated around the connective holes so that an installation efficiency is improved.
