Abstract: PURPOSE: An intake-air leakage monitoring method is provided to prevent excessive emission of smoke by restricting fuel injection during intake-air leakage. CONSTITUTION: An intake-air leakage monitoring method comprises a first step of reading the information input from sensors, and judging whether a monitoring condition for intake system is satisfied; a second step of judging whether output values of the air mass sensor and boost pressure sensor fall within a predetermined range; and a third step of determining as an intake-air leakage, controlling the fuel system to minimize fuel injection amount, and alarming intake-air leakage to a driver, if it is judged in the second step that output values do not fall within the predetermined range.
