Abstract: 본 발명은 엔진출력 향상을 위한 배기장치에 관한 것으로서,
종래의 배기시스템은 배기관 및 머플러에 고정된 형상을 부가하여 배압을 저감시키고 있으며, 최근에 개발된 가변 머플러의 경우도 밸브개폐를 통해 제한된 2가지 또는 3가지 모드정도밖에 변경되지 않기 때문에 모든 조건의 엔진 회전수에 따라 배기계 및 머플러 시스템이 적절히 대응하지 못해 효과적으로 배압을 조절하지 못하는 문제점이 발생하고 있었다.
따라서, 상기 문제점을 해결하기 위한 본 발명은 배기관의 후단부에 제 1 및 제 2 테일파이프를 형성하고, 배기관의 바닥면에 차량의 주행풍 세기에 따라 상기 제 2 테일파이프를 선택적으로 개방시키는 밸브수단을 형성하므로서, 배기소음 및 배압특성을 적절히 조절하여 엔진출력을 극대화 시킬 수 있도록 한 엔진출력 향상을 위한 배기장치에 관한 것이다.-

Abstract: PURPOSE: A condensate discharge device of a muffler is provided to discharge condensate efficiently corresponding to flow of exhaust gas, and to prevent corrosion of the muffler by actively discharging condensate out of the muffler at low or high RPM(Revolution Per Minute) range with concentrating condensate on the lower part of an orifice pipe. CONSTITUTION: A condensate discharge device of a muffler comprises a couple of variable inclined plates(30) installed at both sides of a housing(21) around an orifice pipe(23) in V-shape to vary the volume of the portion for collecting condensate; vertical and horizontal rails(24,25) formed in the middle of the housing to slide upper and lower ends of the variable inclined plates; a rod(40) moving the variable inclined plates downward according to pressure of exhaust gas; and a return spring(50) contained in the vertical rail to elastically support the upper end of the variable inclined plate.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An apparatus for contracting and expanding a tube of an exhaust tube is provided to control sectional area which exhaust gas passes depending on back pressure of exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION: A gate(20) is formed on the middle of an exhaust tube(10) in such a manner that sectional area of the exhaust tube is changed depending on back pressure of exhaust gas. The gate has a plurality of plates(21) arranged to be stepped. Links(22) connect front ends and the rear ends of the plates in such a manner that the plates form a plane when unfolded. The foremost plate is fixed to an inside of the exhaust tube. The rear end of the rearmost plate is connected with a guide(23) elastically supported by a spring(26) and protruded toward the inside of the exhaust tube by the link. The guide is elastically supported by the spring so that the plates are folded back when back pressure of exhaust gas drops down. The gates are pushed back by back pressure of exhaust gas so that sectional area of the exhaust tube which exhaust gas passes is expanded.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A dual mode muffler of an automobile is provided to satisfy conditions of reduction of noise and back pressure, and to be usefully used in an exhaust system of next generation. CONSTITUTION: A muffler has a valve unit(30) installed in a discharge tube(13), and having opening degree controlled depending on engine RPM and quantity of discharged combustion gas. The valve unit comprises a first rotary triangular flap(310) and a second rotary triangular flap(330) installed by a first hinge shaft(311) and a second hinge shaft(331) fixed to an inside of the discharge tube to be separated from each other, and a first torsion spring and a second torsion spring installed to cover the first hinge shaft and the second hinge shaft in such a manner that the first rotary triangular flap and the second rotary triangular flap are elastically rotated and a linear movement triangular flap(350) installed by a guide shaft(351) fixed to the discharge tube to form a triangle together with the first hinge shaft and the second hinge shaft, and a compression spring(353) connected with the guide shaft in such a manner that the linear movement triangular flap is elastically and linearly moved in longitudinal direction of the discharge tube. The linear movement triangular flap is installed so that one of corners thereof is inserted to a space between the first rotary triangular flap and the second rotary triangular flap and both side thereof contact with the first rotary triangular flap and the second rotary triangular flap.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An apparatus for removing the condensate water of a muffler is provided to exclude a separate apparatus for draining the condensate water and to avoid the collection of the condensate water in a muffler by completely discharging the condensate water with the flow force of the exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION: In a muffler(20), respective ends of a front exhaust pipe(23) and a rear exhaust pipe(24) are received in an inlet(21) and an outlet(22). One end of a pressurizing pipe(25) is received in the front exhaust pipe received in the muffler, while the other end is placed on the bottom surface in front of the muffler. The upper and lower portions of the pressurizing pipe are bent in different directions to induce a portion of the exhaust gas flowing into the muffler to the bottom surface of the muffler. A pivot valve(26) formed on the bottom end portion of the pressurizing pipe is opened by the pressure of the exhaust gas. One end of a discharge pipe(27) is received in the rear exhaust pipe, while the other end is placed on the rear bottom surface of the muffler. The condensate water collecting on the bottom surface behind the muffler is drained to the rear exhaust pipe.
