Abstract:
Disclosed is a computer-implemented method of designing a number of dental restorations for a patient, wherein the method comprises: - selecting a composed set of teeth comprising a number of teeth, where the number of teeth are arranged spatially relative to each other forming a high aesthetic composition; - applying the composed set of teeth to a virtual three dimensional representation of the patient's present oral situation to obtain an initial set of teeth; - optionally modifying one or more parameters of one or more of the teeth in the initial set of teeth to obtain a finalized set of teeth.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for computer-controlled creation of non-occluding earpieces with tube bore. The non-occluding earpieces are created based on a three-dimensional computer model of at least part of the outer ear and at least part of the auditory canal. The said model is created by a laser scanner, in the ear scanner or by other means. The said three-dimensional computer model is virtually modified to create the non-occluding earpieces and the tube bore. Finally the physical non-occluding earpieces are manufactured using rapid prototyping equipment.
Abstract:
A method for visualizing a 3D dental restoration on a 2D image of the mouth of a patient, the method including obtaining a 3D dental model of at least a part of the patient's oral cavity, designing the 3D dental restoration, obtaining the 2D image of the mouth of the patient, estimating a virtual camera comprising at least one virtual camera property corresponding to at least one physical camera property of the physical camera used to obtain the 2D image, viewing the 3D dental restoration using the virtual camera, determining the visible area of the 3D dental restoration, which is not overlapped by surrounding anatomic features when viewed with the virtual camera, imaging the visible area of the 3D dental restoration with the 2D image. This provides an image which with high accuracy gives the dentist and the patient a visual presentation of the final result of a dental treatment.
Abstract:
System and computer-implemented method of designing and/or manufacturing a post and core to match a bore of a tooth, said method comprising the steps of: a) obtaining at least one impression of a set of teeth comprising a bore; b) scanning the impression of the set of teeth comprising the bore; c) providing a three-dimensional scan representation of the impression comprising the bore; d) transforming the three-dimensional scan representation to a three-dimensional positive working model of the set of teeth and the bore; and e) designing a post and core model from the positive working model of the bore. The invention relates in particular to CAD/CAM design and/or manufacture of post and core.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method of designing a dental restoration (1140) for a patient, wherein the method comprises: -providing one or more 2D images (1101), where at least one 2D image (1101) comprises at least one facial feature (1103); -providing a 3D virtual model (1102) of at least part of the patient's oral cavity; -arranging at least one of the one or more 2D images (1101) relative to the 3D virtual model (1102) in a virtual 3D space such that the 2D image (1101) and the 3D virtual model (1102) are aligned when viewed from a viewpoint, whereby the 3D virtual model (1102) and the 2D image (1101) are both visualized in the 3D space; and -modeling a restoration (1140) on the 3D virtual model (1102), where the restoration is designed to fit the facial feature (1103) of the at least one 2D image (1101).

Abstract:
A method for planning, visualizing, and/or optimizing dental restoration on the pre-prepared teeth of a patient. The method includes obtaining 3D digital models of the pre-prepared teeth and the prepared teeth, and aligning these 3D models. A CAD model of a dental restoration for the prepared teeth is designed based on the 3D digital model of the pre-prepared teeth.
