Abstract: The invention relates to an electrical device with a PTC polymer element having a constriction. The constriction defines a web extending in a main current direction over a length longer than in the prior art, namely longer than 5 mm, preferably longer than 15 mm. Further, the aperture angle of the PTC polymer material at the ends of the web is larger than 100 DEG . A preferred choice of material is given, further. The invention achieves very high voltage-withstand capabilities.

Abstract: In order to ensure that the current path is interrupted along the entire length of fusible cut-out elements (4a,4b) in a reliable manner, said elements are provided with burn-up bodies that are arranged at a distance on a strip (5) that is made from an electroconductive material in capsules (8), whereby said bodies are connected by means of a continuous igniter wire (9) and ignition of one burn-up body triggers ignition of the rest. The burn-up bodies can be placed in a recess in the central support body, over which the strip (5) runs. Said burn-up bodies contain an explosive material with an ignition temperature of 245 DEG C. During burn-up, the explosive material gives off 480 J/g of energy, whereby a temperature of approximately 2,000 DEG C is reached and conversion into quenching gas, essentially nitrogen, occurs.

Kontrolní obvod (1) je usporádán pro detekování stavu odporu po urcený casový interval po zmene odporu, a pro vytvárení signálu pouze tehdy, pokud stav vysokého odporu trvá po dobu tohoto casového intervalu. Zarízení je usporádáno pro otevírání spínace (13) v prípade vysokých nadproudu a dále obsahuje stykac (17) pro otevírání spínace (13) v prípade malých nadproudu.
