Abstract: A switch includes a power in contact, a piston, a power out contact, a plurality of flexible locking elements, an earthing contact, and a threaded rod. In a first position, the piston contacts the power in contact and the power out contact. In a second position, the piston contacts the power out contact. In a third position, the piston contacts the earthing contact and the power out contact. The piston comprises an inner threaded section that engages the threaded rod. Rotation of the threaded rod moves the piston along an axis of the switch between the different switch positions. The piston comprises a groove extending in a direction parallel to the axis. Each of the flexible locking elements is configured such that a part of each of the flexible locking elements moves into and out of the groove as the piston is moved along the axis of the switch.

Abstract: A three-position disconnector switch includes an earthing contact, a power out contact, a power in contact, and a piston. The power out contact comprises first and second parts connected by a leg portion. In a first position, the piston contacts the first part of the power out contact. In a second position, the piston contacts the first part of the power out contact and makes electrical contact with the second part. In a third position, the piston contacts the second part and makes electrical contact with the earthing contact. The piston is configured to move along an axis of the three-position disconnector switch to transition the three-position disconnector switch between the different switch positions.

Abstract: An apparatus for hot spot sensing where the apparatus includes an input unit, a processing unit,and an output unit. The input unit is configured to provide the processing unit with an image of an object that includes a hot spot. The image data of the image includes image data of the hot spot where the image was acquired by a camera. The processing unit is configured to determine a number of pixels in the image corresponding to a size of the hot spot, an average temperature for the hot spot, the determination comprising utilization of pixel values of the pixels in the image corresponding to the size of the hot spot and the number of pixels in the image corresponding to the size of the hot spot, a surrounding temperature in the image, and a corrected temperature for the hot spot.
