    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas monitor which can precisely specify a leakage point of a radioactive gas and reduces burden to workers. SOLUTION: A suction unit 30 has a suction nozzle 32 for sucking gas (air), and an indicator 34 for displaying a measurement result. The suction nozzle 32 is connected to a detection tank 15 of a measurement unit 10 through a flexible hose 40. When a pump 12 of the measurement unit 10 is operated, gas around a suction port at the tip end of the suction nozzle 32 is sucked and guided into the detection tank 15 through the hose 40. A measurement result of the measurement unit 10 is given to the indicator 34 of the suction unit 30 by a cable 42. A worker carries the small, light-weight and portable suction unit 30 and searches for a leakage point of radioactive gas while watching display on the indicator 34.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a radiation measuring equipment having a function for measuring radon present in a gas with high sensitivity and a function for measuring radon in real-time. CONSTITUTION:A first ionization chamber 10 comprises an electrode container 18, a current collecting electrode 20, and a first power supply circuit 22 for applying voltage between them. A second ionization chamber 12 comprises a container 26, a substance adsorbing radon, an outer electrode 29, a current collecting electrode 30, and a second power supply circuit 32. The first power supply section 22 applies a negative voltage to the electrode container whereas the second power supply section 32 applies a positive voltage to the outer electrode. Consequently, a negative pulse is generated from the current collecting electrode 20 in the first ionization chamber 10 and a positive pulse is generated from the current collecting electrode 30 in the second ionization chamber 12. A signal processing circuit performs signal processing for every characteristics of these pulses.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To ensure high sensitivity detection of only epithermal neutrons. CONSTITUTION:A rod-like collector electrode 22 is arranged on the inside of a box-like outside electrode 20, and helium -3 He is sealed therein. The output of the collector electrode 22 is connected to a measurement circuit 30. A moderator 32 such as polyethylene is provided on the lower part of the outside electrode 20, and an absorption layer 34 made of rubber including boron is arranged on the entire circumference of a detector. Thermal neutrons are absorbed by the absorption layer 34 and are not detected thereby. Accelerated neutrons are transmitted through the absorption layer 34 as well as the moderator 32 and are not detected thereby. Since only epithermal neutrons of 0.5-5X10 eV are transmitted through the absorption layer 34 and is moderated by the moderator 32 into thermal neutrons, nuclear reaction occurs and ionized charges are generated, which are detected as pulses.
