Abstract: A process for the preparation of free-flowing, dust- and binder-free riboflavine spray granulates or microgranulates from finely divided pure riboflavine, characterised in that an aqueous or water-containing suspension of the pure finely divided riboflavine is subjected to a) fluidised bed spray drying, b) single component nozzle atomiser drying or c) disc atomiser drying, in particular fluidised bed spray drying, without binder being added to the suspension, and the riboflavine spray granulates or microgranulates obtainable according to this process.

Abstract: An improved process for preparing riboflavin 5'-phosphate monosodium salt by reacting riboflavin or its sodium salt with excess phosphorus oxychloride in a suitable organic solvent, hydrolysing the resulting reaction mixture by treating with water at elevated temperature, reacting the reaction mixture obtained in the hydrolysis with a sodium-containing base to a pH of 4.0 to 6.0, and isolating the riboflavin 5'-phosphate sodium salt crystallising out which is characterised in that the reaction mixture obtained in the hydrolysis is reacted with sodium-containing base at such high temperatures that the riboflavin 5'-phosphate to be reacted is completely dissolved in the reaction mixture. Suitable temperatures are 50 to 100 DEG C.
