    Abstract: PURPOSE: To treat a plant to be protected from mollusks or the surroundings of the plant with the treating compound to exterminate the mollusks such as snails and slugs, thus protecting agricultural and horticultural plants from the mollusks. CONSTITUTION: The method for exterminating mollusks comprises treating a plant to be protected from the mollusks or the surroundings of the plant with a compound of the formula or an agent containing an effective amount of the compound, preferably a mollusk-exterminating agent obtained by mixing the compound of the formula with a solid carrier material or attractant and conventional additives, especially a feed material for exterminating snails or seed disinfectant containing an effective amount of the compound. The mollusks, such as snails and slugs injuring agricultural and horticultural plants, especially plants cultured in the temperature zones, the subtropical zones and the tropical zones, can thus be exterminated to protect the plants.
