Abstract: Improved process for the preparation of granular N-alkylammoniumacetonitrile salts Iwhere R1 to R5 are hydrogen or organic radicals, and Y- is a sulfate or hydrogensulfate anion,from an aqueous solution of the compound IIwhere R6 is C1- to C4-alkyl,which comprises evaporating this aqueous solution at a temperature of from 80° C. to 250° C. and a pressure of from 10 mbar to 2 bar to give a melt, then allowing the melt to solidify, where, during or following the evaporation, customary carrier materials and/or auxiliaries can be added, and the resulting solidified compound I is converted into the desired granular form.

Abstract: Granules are provided that are useful for oxidizing applications when the granules are dissolved in the presence of an active oxygen source. These granules include a salt having the structure of Formula I FORMULA I wherein A is a saturated ring formed by a plurality of atoms in addition to the N1 atom, the saturated ring atoms including at least one carbon atom and at least one of O, S, and N atoms, the substituent R1 bound to the N1 atom of the Formula I structure including either (a) a C1-24 alkyl or alkoxylated alkyl where the alkoxy is C2-4, (b) a C4-24 cycloalkyl, (c) a C7-24 alkaryl, (d) a repeating or nonrepeating alkoxy or alkoxylated alcohol, where the alkoxy unit is C2-4, or (e) -CR2R3C 3BOND N where R2 and R3 are each H, a C1-24 alkyl, cycloalkyl, or alkaryl, or a repeating or nonrepeating alkoxyl or alkoxylated alcohol where the alkoxy unit is C2-4, the R2 and R3 substituents being each H, a C1-24 alkyl, cycloalkyl, or alkaryl, or a repeating or nonrepeating alkoxyl or alkoxylated alcohol where the alkoxy unit is C2-4, Z is in the range of 0 to 10, and wherein Y is a counterion. The salt is carried by, coated with, or admixed with a solid particulate such as silica gel, silicic acid, silicate, aluminum oxide, clay, aluminum silicate, or mixtures thereof.

Abstract: A process for the production of alkaline metal salts and earth alkali metal salts of aryloxy-C1-C4-alkane carboxylic acids by reacting the basic aryloxy-C1-C4-alkane carboxylic acids with alkaline metal bases or earth alkali metal bases in the melt, by extruding a mixture of the aryloxy-C1-C4-alkane carboxylic acid and an at least stoichiometric quantity of an alkaline metal base or an earth alkali metal base, which are partially or completely converted in the reaction conditions into volatile substances. The invention also concerns the extrudates thus obtainable and the use of the extrudates which contain an aryloxy-C1-C4-alkane carboxylic acid with herbicidal action to combat undesired plant growth.
