    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the sensitivity of a pressure sensor without degrading the shock absorbing function of a bumper main body by providing a load carrying member in a place near the pressure sensor in the bumper main body which is made of a cushion medium and equipped with the pressure sensor on its front surface. CONSTITUTION:This bumper 6 employed by an unmanned carrier and the like includes a bumper main body 7 which is composed of a cushion medium, a re-inforcing member 8 as a load carrying member which covers mostly the overall surface of the bumper main body, and pressure sensors 9 which are located from the front surface of the re-inforcing member 8 to the both sides of the bumper main body 7. The bumper also includes a base plate 10 which is sticked to the inner surface, that is, the back of the bumper main body 7, and an outer skin cover 11 which covers an entire body described above. Besides, the re-inforcing member 8 is not only so flexible to the extent that no crack is made and the shock absorbing function is not degraded but also is stiff enough so as to support the load which is heavy enough to activate the pressure sensor 9.
