    Abstract: PURPOSE:To maintain a proper and easy-to-see display at all times even if the source voltage varies by detecting the source voltage and setting a display unit in a proper display state. CONSTITUTION:The display unit 3 is driven by a display driving part 10 according to the indication of a CPU 7 and the display driving part 10 also controls the display density of the display unit 3 according to the indication of the CPU 7. The driving electric power for the display unit 3 is supplied from a battery 11 directly to the display driving part 10, wherein a voltage value matching specific display density is set, so that the electric power is supplied to the display unit 3. Namely, when some key input is performed on a keyboard 2, the output voltage of the battery 11 is digitized by the A/D converter 13 and a current voltage value written in a CPU 7 port is stored in the work area 9 of a RAM 9. Then a set value which is previously stored in a mode storage area 9b is compared with the current value and the display density is varied following up a rise or fall in the source voltage.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To effectively and speedily perform registration by simultaneously displaying the execution of the registration and deletion and information on the amount of usage of a storage means. CONSTITUTION:A function key 10 is provided instead of a memory check key. This function key 10 outputs menu display, and selects a function simultaneously outputting three mode setting, that is, registration confirmation and the amount of memory usage, a function outputting the only registration confirmation, and a function outputting the amount of memory usage. For example, a register key 7 is pushed and the function key 10 is selected after retrieval information output in a Japanese/English dictionary mode, a message indicating the register confirmation and the amount of memory usage of Japanese/English information is displayed on a graph, and the number of registerable cases is displayed. When a deletion key 8 is pushed, the deletion of the register information on display is executed, and a message indicating the deletion confirmation and the graph display of the amount of memory usage, and the number of registerable cases are displayed and a next register information mask screen is displayed. Thus, the efficiency of operation can be improved.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable recording to be performed in varying color tone by providing first and second heating elements at a prearranged interval on a thermal head in the running direction of thermal transfer material. CONSTITUTION:First and second heaters 26a, 26b are provided on a thermal head 26 at a prearranged pitch in the travelling direction of thermal transfer material 19. When only a second ink layer 23 is transferred to recording paper 2, the first heater 26a alone has to be heated. Immediately after the application of thermal energy, the thermal transfer material 19 is caused to strip from the recording paper 2, thus transferring only the melting part 23a of the second ink layer 23 on the recording paper 2. Consequently recording can be performed in accordance with the color tone of the second ink layer 23. In the meantime, when recording based on the color tone of the first ink layer 22 is selected, only the second heater 26b has to be heated. After the elapse of a certain time following the application of thermal energy, a support 21 is separated from the recording paper 2, and the first and second ink layers 22, 23 are transferred onto the recording paper 2, forming the color tone alone of the ink layer 22.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To firmly fix electric parts, such as LSI, etc., to a printed circuit board, by fixing the LSI, etc., to the printed circuit board with an upper surface sheet. CONSTITUTION:Plural lead pins 15 of an LSI14 are firmly adhered to the pattern on a printed circuit board 7 by means of a hot-melt type adhesion 16, but to increase their adhering strength the circumference of the LSI14 is covered with part of an upper surface sheet 18 and the upper surface sheet is adhered to the printed circuit board 7. Therefore, the printed circuit board 7 and upper surface sheet 18 which are bonded to each other in a united body are put and fixed between an upper frame 4 and lower frame 5 and the LSI14 is strongly fixed to the printed circuit board 7.
