Abstract: A method for purifying a dye solution is provided for a recording liquid. The method comprises steps of dissolving a dye in a solvent and treating the resulting dye solution with a flocculant to remove colloidal matters. Filtration or centrifuging may be employed in addition to the above-mentioned flocculation treatment. There is also provided a method for producing an ink by utilizing the above-mentioned method for purifying a dye solution.
