Abstract: It is provided an image processing apparatus comprising: reception means for receiving image date sent from a transmission-side apparatus; discrimination means for discriminating whether the image data received by the reception means is a character image or a halftone image; and processing means for performing segmentation processing of the reception data, wherein when the discrimination means discrimitaes that the reception image data is a character image, the processing means performs interpolation processing on the basis of reception image data in a predetermined area to perform segmentation processing of image data of a pixel of interest, so that the apparatus can perform segmentation processing of input data by simple control at high speed and low cost.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inform the user of necessity of replacement of a recording agent cartridge when a received image is recorded. SOLUTION: This image communications equipment has a communication means that makes communication with an opposite terminal via a line, a DRAM 118 that stores image information received by the communication means, a management means that manages image information stored in the DRAM 118, a decoding means that decodes the image information stored in the DRAM 118 into image data to be printed on recording paper, and a recording section 120 that records a visual image on recording paper based on the decoded image data by using an ink cartridge selectively mounted. A CPU 11 informs the user of necessity of replacing an ink cartridge mounted on the recording section 120, when the decoding means and the recording section 120 are used to continuously record a plurality of images, in which color and monochromatic images are intermingled.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify corrective operation for telephone directory data and collation voice data by displaying a menu on a display means for allowing a user to select whether the collation voice data the same as data before the correction are to be cross-referenced with the data after the correction or new collation voice data in reference with the telephone directory data, after the correction are to be re-registered. SOLUTION: When contents of registered telephone directory data are corrected, a set key 310 is depressed in a standby state, upward/downward cursor keys 311, 312 are operated to scroll an image pattern on an LCD 306 and the user selects telephone directory data that are objects of correction. Since an operation menu is displayed to allow the user to select whether the same voice data as the data for the telephone directory data before the correction are to be cross-referenced with the telephone directory data after the correction or new voice data in cross reference with the telephone directory data after the correction are to be re-registered, the telephone directory data that are registered and the collation voice data that are registered can respectively be corrected.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the convenience of operations by informing the operator the possibility of retrieval of a destination through voice recognition, when the voice data corresponding to registered destination data are in existence in outputted telephone directory data so as to allow the operator to immediately discriminate whether or not at which destinations in the telephone directory automatic dial function through voice recognition is available. SOLUTION: Since a letter 'V' is displayed at the right end of the display at the time of displaying the telephone directory data on an LCD 306 of the facsimile terminal, when voice data for voice recognition corresponding to destination data registered in the displayed telephone directory data is resistered, the operator observing the indication can recognize availability of destination retrieval through the voice recognition. Even when a voice recognition key 322 is not depressed, the letter 'V' denoting the availability of destination retrieval through voice recognition can be displayed, in response to the display operation of the telephone directory. Thus, an operator making operation of the telephone directory data can recognize the availability of destination retrieval through voice recognition.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable speech data to be surely registered without exerting a burden on a user by announcing the number of registration trial times of speech data at the time of registration of the speech data. SOLUTION: When the speech registration is first judged to be possible by comparing a speech registerable number with the registered number, for example, 3 is set in a counter. Namely, the speech input in speech registration has executed three times (S45, S46). When a user picks up a receiver according to the instruction of a screen, a guidance display and guide tones are generated (S47, S48). The user speaks his or her name to be registered toward the receiver in this state. When the speeches are sensed, the analysis of the inputted speeches is executed (S49, S50). When the speech analysis is normally executed, the value of the counter is decreased by 1 (S51, S52). Announcement is made that the speech analysis is normally executed and the display of the screen to announce the remaining required number of times of the occurrence is executed (S53, S54). When the speech registration of three times is ended, all of the speech data are registered in an unused speech registration region (S55).

However, in the 2nd mode, the ink residual amount is not detected.
